I thought it would be interesting to create a thread based on a popular '00s band who have since largely been forgotten about (although it's probably for the best). The youngest Popedians may not even be familiar with them. Simple Plan were one of the biggest rock bands in the world back in 2004 and 2005. They had a string of successful hits, such as "Perfect", "Untitled" and "When I'm Gone". What is your overall opinion of Simple Plan? Did you like any of their songs at the time?
I've got to be honest, I hated Simple Plan. They were one of the reasons as to why I had a general dislike of Emo music. Unfortunately, for my sake, Australia seemed to fall in love with them. They were hugely popular back in 2005, in particular. I remember "Perfect" received very heavy airplay on the radio and the other singles off Still Not Getting Any... received a lot of exposure as well. Simple Plan even had two Top-10 hits here during the Early 2010s, even after they had long become an after-thought and were no longer in the limelight. Admittedly, i'm still not particularly fond of their songs. They give me a lot of nostalgia for obvious reasons, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to listen to any of their songs. This was the Simple Plan song that I disliked the most:

I remember them well, they weren’t too bad really especially compared to today’s music. That pop punk stuff is quite nostalgic now tbh. “Addicted” is the one I remember the most from them.

See SharksFan99, finally some sanity in this thread! Simple Plan was the bee's knees. More like insanity. They were awful. Surely i'm not the only person on here who really hates their music. There has to be others!

I remember Simple Plan for making the theme song for What's New Scooby Doo? I thought it was pretty rad because it sounded like the era it was made in. My favorite songs from them were "I'm Just a Kid" and "Untitled". To quote Slowpoke, they were the bee's knees.

They were on so many commercials for phones lol What type of phone commercials? Was it just their songs being used or did the band themselves appear on the ads?

Continuing on from the "November 2004 Atmosphere" thread: Simple Plans “Welcome To My Life” was very emo as well. Maybe in terms of lyrical content, but their overall sound had much more in common with the Late '90s/Early '00s-wave of pop-punk than it did with the Emo scene of the Late 2000s. I'm not sure if I would really consider any of their songs as being outright "emo".

I actually like a couple of their songs! Certainly not my favourite band though.

This song is not emo. No it is so much more than that. It is a founding father of emo.
