In this part of the series, we focus on the year 2002. What was the year 2002 like for you? What are your memories of it and what did you think of the pop culture at the time?
I was three years old in 2002. Using the 3-12 definition, this was the first year of my childhood. My memories of 2002 are mostly vague, however I can remember some things quite clearly. Instead of typing up a long paragraph about what the year was like for me, i'm going to describe it in dot points: * My Grandad built me a cubby house that year. It was actually quite big and it even had a slide at one end of it! * Playing the PS1 was one of my favourite pastimes. My favourite games were "Stuart Little 2", "World's Scariest Police Chases" and "Runabout 2". With only being three at the time, my Mum had to set the console up for me each time I wanted to play it. * I had a spiritual experience one night at my Dad's house. There was a spirit of a little boy who was haunting the place at the time. My Dad and his ex-partner had several encounters with him during the time that my Dad lived there in the Early 2000's. About twenty minutes after I went to bed one night, I was just laying in bed and I happened to saw my bedroom door creep open. It wasn't caused by any draft/wind, because my bedroom window was closed and so were the windows in the other rooms. * There was an ad that aired on TV which showed a man trying to climb a brick wall (now that I think about it, it may have even been some sort of trailer for Spider-Man) and I used to try to imitate it by trying to climb up one of my bedroom walls. I wish I could remember what the ad was for. * I started to become aware of contemporary Top-40 music in Late 2002. At that time, I also started to take an interest in Hybrid Theory and my interest in Linkin Park was only consolidated when Meteora was released just two weeks after my 4th birthday, which was back in March 2003. * I got a trampoline that year. The trampoline I had would be deemed unsafe by current standards, because it did not have safety nets. * I have a reasonably clear memory from Early 2002 of scribbling in a drawing book and then seeing the 2001-02 Channel Nine endboard on TV.

@sharksfan99 my recap of 2002 in my eyes in 8th grade (The first half atleast as it's the most famous) I would say February is the stand out month of 2002.
- WWF is popular again for a short while due to the nWo coming back, this regained popularity would not last tho. - Xbox starts becoming more popular, it got off to a rocky start. - Saw DragonFly the movie in Feb, it is the worst movie I have ever seen, but also the best because of how bad it was lol. - Fox Kids was getting really bad, Digimon Season 3 was losing me. - A lot of people started tuning out of Toonami around this time. - Yugioh is still failing to be as big Pokemon, it would take a long time. - Gamecube is still a crap system. - No Doubt's hey baby is played 24/7, their video on MTV & MTV 2 is played at nausea. -Nelly's Hot in Here is one of the biggest party hits, you stop what you are doing when the song comes on. - Got my first kiss in February & my first relationship in the span of one month. - I don't remember people being that excited for Star Wars episode 2. - Eminem Show is the biggest album release of the year. - The Patriots win the superbowl in the snow and it was a very memorable scene. - Blockbuster was packed everynight due to DVD's popularity - Bandanas get popular this year for women. - Teen Pop is completely dead right now (starts dying off in late 2001) - I remember seeing Britney's I am not a girl not yet a Woman video on MTV 2 in the morning , was surreal and magical. - Neptunes mania, everyone is trying to get Neptunes to produce their songs. - Vh1 seems very lost right now, it wouldn't be until 2004 it would become popular again with its 80's nostalgia. - Skittles are randomly popular this year - Fiji Water blows up - Pop Punk in full swing - "How You Remind Me" by Nickleback is played in every CVS you can imagine. - The little American Flags are still popular until March. - I got Showtime for 5 months for no reason.
