Ugh, this is such a cheap and tacky pop-punk/emo song. The vocals really irritate me; it's like fingernails running down a chalkboard. Unfortunately, for the bands sake, the music video really doesn't do them any favours. It comes across as incredibly low-budget, and some of the scenes in the music video are questionable. I'm amazed that it somehow managed to peak at #25 and stay on the ARIA Chart for 10 weeks. Quite a good achievement for a lacklustre song.
Anyway, my "Worst Songs of the 2000s" list would now look like this:
1. "Amili" - Lil Wayne 2. "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It" - Dem Franchize Boyz 3. "Laffy Taffy" - D4L 4. "Clint Eastwood" - Gorillaz 5. "My Humps" - Fergie 6. "Ooh Aah" - Tamara Jaber 7. "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" Kid Courageous 8. "Drop It Like It's Hot" - Snoop Dogg ft. Pharrell 9. "Single Ladies (Put a ring on it)" - Beyonce 10. "You're Beautiful" - James Blunt
All I can say is thank goodness the Top-3 songs did not achieve success here. They would quite easily have to be one of the worst songs I have ever listened to. I'm sure there's probably other hip-hop songs from the Mid/Late 2000s which could easily make this list as well, however i'm most likely unaware of them.

I think I've just discovered a song as horrible as "Laffy Taffy" and "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It". It was released by Dutch DJ, Sidney Samson. "Riverside" was a hit in the UK and Australia in 2009/2010. The worst thing about this song (apart from how horrible the beat is), is how repetitive the sampling and beat is. It's literally just the exact same thing played over and over again.

Crazy is an awesome song, y'all a bunch of blunts for hating it.
No particular order:
Laffy Taffy (never heard of it before, it made me laff a lot) Rockstar Boom Boom Pow You're Beautiful London Bridge Crank Dat Fireflies (sneery as hell, horrid beat)

This song by New Zealand rapper, Savage, is pretty bad. It actually topped the charts in his home country and stayed within the NZ Top-40 for 24 weeks. "Swing" also charted here as well, but it only peaked at #36 and dropped out of the Top-50 after 3 weeks. I'm not really surprised that it was so successful in New Zealand, given the fact that the country embraced snap-rap (like the US) and hip-hop is a big deal over there.

But that's such a good song though lol, although actually Savage had another hit here, "Moonshine" which actually did better than "Swing" and became the #3 song of 2005, right behind "Das Kleine Krokodil" by Shnappi and "Axel F" by Crazy Frog - what a joke, 2005 was such a meme year. In fact, from what I remember you couldn't go anywhere in NZ that year without hearing either Savage or Crazy Frog.

Maybe it's just because i'm listening to it for the first time and don't have any memory of it. It reminds me a bit of "Laffy Taffy" and "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It", even though the songs sound nothing alike. Here in Australia, Savage is mostly only known for "Freaks", that collaboration he made with Timmy Trumpet back in 2014. He's not a household name or anything though. Haha. Crazy Frog was pretty popular here as well. I can remember getting a Crazy Frog toy from a McDonalds Happy Meal at the time.

What's wrong with the song Rockstar by Nickelback? It's a very catchy rock song. I'll never understand why it receives so much hate. It's one of my favorite rock songs.

I don't even know, honestly. I think it's just because they had so many hits and dominated radio back then, so people got annoyed of them. Now people just hop on the bandwagon and say Nickelback sucks, it's basically a meme now.

Now people just hop on the bandwagon and say Nickelback sucks, it's basically a meme now. I already gave my reasons why I think it's so atrocious, but to recap: 1. Chad Kroeger's voice is more annoying than ever because of his forced country twang. 2. The lyrics are a disgustingly shameless embrace of all the worst stereotypes of rock and roll. Nickelback here are in it purely to take drugs, bang a bajillion women, and live like spoiled millionaires. 3. It's one thing to want it all, but this song fails to convey any relatable reasons why they want to live a better life. Plenty of musicians, from Springsteen, to Strummer, to Nas, to Tracy Chapman, have sung about living a fantasy lifestyle, but it's primarily to escape their crappy lives of reality, a feeling that anybody can identify with and which frames the objective in a much more rewarding context. In absence of that, these guys are just greedy hacks, through and through. 4. A lot like "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars, this song is not only morally dire, it's composed in such a blithely childish, sing-songy way, which only adds insult to injury. 5. The music itself is basically a rehash of every other mediocre Nickelback song that came before it, but somehow even more strained, laggy, and predictable. The country influence could be part of that, but I think it's just that it's a corny, unsavory composition. "How You Remind Me" at least has some development in its progression and a memorable chorus. "Rockstar" just sounds so elementary.

Oh my God, yes. It was my first favorite song ever, actually. I never found out Nickelback was hated until around five years ago. How come he's hated so much? Sorry for living under a rock. There were a few reasons as to why Nickelback and Chad Kroeger, in particular, were disliked so much by the public. Towards the end of their time in the mainstream, they were basically perceived like Justin Bieber was at the start of his career. Everyone loved to hate Nickelback and those who admitted that they were fans of them were bagged out and mocked. Some of those reasons include: * Chad Kroeger's voice. Unlike Grunge singers such as Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder, both of whom were revered for their vocal talents, Chad Kroeger lacked a wide vocal range and his vocals were very repetitive. * Their songs sound very similar to each other. Listening to one of their albums in full is essentially like listening to one song repeatedly, the only difference being a slight tweak to the chord progressions and lyrical themes. My Mum was a fan of their music back in the Early/Mid 2000s, so I had to listen to their albums in the car quite often when I was a kid. I wouldn't recommend their albums to anyone. * I think a lot of people hold them responsible for rock music declining in overall quality. It didn't help their cause that they were so popular during the 2000s and radio stations played their songs on a high rotation.
