The hatred for this song is primarily contextual. It’s a cover of The Who, whose original song is a classic rock staple. Bizkit’s cover came out after Fred Durst had more than infamously established himself as an attention-seeking narcissist, so it came across as a vainly desperate plea for sympathy, made all the worse by the fact that it was relying on a legendary band’s work. Personally, I think “Eat You Alive” is a million times more cringe-worthy, but I certainly underatand why rock purists hated the “Behind Blue Eyes” cover so venomously. Yeah, I can understand the hatred from that point of view. However, if you were to base the song on it's own artistic merits, it really isn't as bad as what people make it out to be. I know i'm in the minority over this, but I personally believe Limp Bizkit's version is better than the original release by The Who.

Okay, THAT will get you pummeled to the ground, depending on you to confess it to.

Some British Eurovision song which was sung poorly on the night of ESC 2003. Often trotted out as proof that the UK doesn't take ESC seriously.

Go ahead. Shame me. I'm ready. I could maybe excuse "Here's to Never Growing Up", but Nickelback and Hannah Montana?!

You asked for it bruh. Totally worked out to an old Hollister playlist yesterday. Looks like you've proved me wrong, those songs are worse than Nickelback and Hannah Montanna. To be honest, i'm not actually familiar with any of the songs you shared above, although I think that's for the best.

Own your truth. Own your bops.

As promised: This is more of an earworm than anything else. I think it's stupid and childish, but I enjoy listening to it from time to time. I loved this song as a toddler and I have had a soft spot for it ever since. I think this is a good song, although i'll never admit it publicly. I'm not a fan of hip-hop, although I don't mind this.

I am taking back an earlier statement regarding Christmas music.
This is such a bop.

I think this is a good song, although i'll never admit it publicly. I think admitting to liking this song won't get you in any trouble. I may really not care for it, but I also largely consider it overrated because a bunch of people seem to think it's one of the best pop songs of the '90s. It's certainly not the same deal as claiming Limp Bizkit's version of "Behind Blue Eyes" is superior to The Who's.

I agree that most people wouldn't react unfavourably to hearing of someone expressing their fondness for "Lovefool". I was mainly speaking from the viewpoint that I wouldn't confess to my friends or family members that I don't mind the song.
