I generally choose not to share my musical interests with my friends and family, so I could technically list almost every song that i'm into as examples of this topic. Music is a very deep and personal thing for me and I feel like i'm jeoparding it by publicly sharing my music tastes with those around me. However, in saying that, there are songs which I would
never confess to liking, even if I did feel more comfortable with listening to my favourite songs while with company:
I'm very open about my dislike of Emo music, so there's no way that I would ever admit to liking "Welcome to the Black Parade".
I've bagged my friends for years for liking bands such as Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco!. I blame nostalgia for this. I hated this song back in 2006.
This is another one which I only started to appreciate within the past 12-18 months. I was never a fan of this back in 2009, because I thought it was one of those typical teenage, pop-punk songs you'd hear in a Disney Channel movie. Even though I believe that it's a genuinely good song now, i'm not sure if I would ever confess to my friends about my interest in the song, because they would likely be under the same mindset as I had almost ten years ago.
I honestly can't say that I have ever liked any other Demi Lovato song, although I do like the electro-rock sound of this song. "Cool For The Summer" has been a guilty pleasure of mine since it was released.
There's definitely other songs I like which are good examples of this topic, but i'll talk about them at another time.
That is quite shameful indeed.
It's not as shameful as admitting to liking and recently singing a Simple Plan song in the car.
