Hmmm.. Warner Music made a copyright complaint on a video (random 30 second Channel 11 recording) I uploaded privately and have never made it public. I can understand why (since that song 'Alive' was in it), but does that mean people can copyright videos even if they are private?Yes. As I was told a few years ago, Content ID systems can still scan through the videos that are private or unlisted. Yep. All videos regardless if privatised are individually assigned with an automatic scan for this purpose. I worked this out years ago after some testing. There’s no way around it.

I haven't decided yet if i'm going to discontinue uploading TV content onto my YouTube channels. Not really sure what to do.

I see that one of my uploads on archive.org has been re-uploaded onto another account...

I see that one of my uploads on archive.org has been re-uploaded onto another account... Are you thinking what i'm thinking (B1)? That name is quite familiar... In all seriousness, it's a shame to see this happen.

Fair enough, if it’s similar or the same thing and the person recorded it themselves, but why just download yours? If they wanted it that much the very least they could’ve done was ask you before just helping themselves. Not that it stops certain people (and I don’t agree with the practice), but maybe you should start inserting a small watermark on your future videos @zampakid ? At least people know where the file originates from then....

That's true, although it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that this person has done what they have done. They're rude and they treat other people poorly.

I've recorded the opener to tonight's special edition of "The Latest", but i'm honestly not too sure what to do with it. It has been almost a year now since the networks started to crack down on media content on YouTube and I still haven't received a copyright claim/strike from Seven, or any of the FTA networks for that matter. I don't want to become complacent though. Even just uploading the weather and closer from tonight's Nine News Sydney bulletin was a bit of a risk, to be honest. I think I might upload "The Latest" opener on Archive.org, just to be safe.

Well it has been a year since the networks started to crack down on media-content on YouTube. I'm genuinely surprised that I have yet to receive a copyright strike or claim from Seven.

Another one bites the bullet, sadly. That's a shame. I did watch the content from that channel from time to time, there was some interesting stuff. At least they are still uploading on Internet Archive.
