I got the idea for this thread after seeing this exact footage in a news report earlier tonight. Take a look at this January 2010 footage of 16-year-old Abby Sunderland setting sail from the US West Coast. Not only was it filmed in standard definition, but it wasn't even filmed in widescreen; it's 4:3 ratio footage! Granted, the footage was filmed right at the beginning of this decade, but it still goes to show how outdated the Early 2010s are fast becoming.
There are plenty of other examples which highlight how the Early 2010s are gradually becoming more and more distant from the present time. Some of these include:
* The Electropop movement in the mainstream ended almost six years ago.
* Although the genre was almost at death's door, rock was still a dominant force in the mainstream for the 1st-half of the epoch. Here in Australia, it wasn't until Mid-Late 2011 that the "rock cultural era" had come to an end.
* Early 2010s smartphones look noticeably outdated and don't have the same features that many of today's smartphones have.
What are some examples you can think of indicate how outdated the Early 2010s are becoming?

Now there's a blast from the past in itself. Although both teenage solo sailors received plenty of media coverage in 2010 for their attempts to break world records, you certainly don't hear much from the likes of Abby Sunderland or Australia's Jessica Simpson Watson (sorry, but I just couldn't resist referencing that error of yours from some time back  ) in the media these days!

Yep. Although, I guess a considerable amount of time has passed since their attempts to break world records. The news report I watched earlier this evening mentioned that Abby Sunderland has since married and now has two children. It's pretty hard to believe, in a way, because 2010 doesn't feel as though it was so long ago! Haha, that's fine, I still chuckle about it when I am reminded of the mistake.

Speaking of signs that the Early 2010s are now dated, can we include the fact that one of the sponsors of the yacht used for Jessica Watson's solo sailing record attempt was the then Network Ten sports channel One HD?!

Oh yeah, I forgot about that to be honest. Also, at the time both Abby Sunderland and Jessica Watson set sail, multichannels such as Eleven and 7mate did not exist yet!

*DVD/Blu-Ray were still dominant over digital movies

He may not have been making headlines every day of the week, but he was already a celebrity figure and he was well-known for his role on The Apprentice. You know the early 2010s are outdated when 2010 is nearing 10 Absolutely! To be honest, the fact that the year 2010 will become a decade old next year scares me a little bit, because it really emphasises how fast time goes. Life goes by in a flash.

He criticized Obama during his first year in office by saying he wasn't a citizen, he made numerously wwe appearances and basically kept saying he was going to run for office.
