"Valerie" by Steve Winwood was pretty much a flop when originally released in 1982, but in 1987 it became a successful hit, averaging between the top-10-20 border. In 1986 his song "Higher Love" had hit the top 10, but that faded away when "Valerie" was sampled for "Call on Me" by Eric Prydz via re-recorded vocals. Valerie still plays on AM radio stations oftenly...
