In this thread, I will be discussing a radio show from Canada that I first discovered back in 2010.
The station is 100.3 The Bear, from Edmonton, Alberta, and the specific radio show I'm talking about is Paul Brown Show's Really Tough Contest, hosted by Paul Brown and Yukon Jack. Technically speaking, they also had another segment called The Bear Polar Games, but that was practically one and the same with the Paul Brown Show's Really Tough Contest, as both consisted of tough challenges that individuals competed in for a chance to win money, only major differences being that the Polar Games was more competition based while Really Tough Contest was more one-person contests, and the winners of the Polar Games would only get a thousand dollars, while the Really Tough Contest winners would get 40-50k.
Right now, the 100.3 The Bear YouTube channel is still up, but the vast majority of their videos have been taken down unfortunately.
Now, being I was twelve at the time and discovering my sexual side, I first discovered this station by looking up videos of girls wearing bikinis in the snow (scantily-clad to fully nude girls in the snow or cold weather is still my biggest fetish to this day, I'll admit). The first video I discovered of theirs is a Bikini Snow Angels contest, which was part of the Bear Polar Games. Like the vast majority of their other videos, this one has also been taken down as of now, but GIFs from the video are still online to this day;
Now, if anyone thinks this station is objectifying women here, they also had a Speedo Ice Skating contest as part of their Bear Polar Games as well (which is also taken down. I never watched it, since I like women )
But anyways, I did later on give a deeper look into the 100.3 The Bear YouTube channel and discovered more bizarre events, a few others from the Bear Polar Games, as well as a sizable lot from the Paul Brown Show's Really Tough Contest.
Some events from the Really Tough Contest include getting paper cuts, drinking urine, giving your dad a prostate exam, receiving Chinese water torture, watching a 72 hour marathon of Barney and Friends without sleeping, and probably the worst of all is one contest where one lady stayed in a dark room for five days from September 26th to October 1st while the hook from Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends" played in an endless loop. Not a single exaggeration here, folks, they did all this and more.
Here's one of their videos still left up if you want an idea of some of the crazy shit they did;
To be quite honest though, it would be nice to host a weird radio show like this. I'd maybe even compete in some of these events.
Anyone up for the 72 Hour Barney Marathon? jk
