I heard this song on A Current Affair a few nights ago. Yet another song I really dislike. People at my school used to play this song to death. Damn I actually really like that song 😂

This would be the decade's bottom of the barrel so far... Most of those songs bring back horrible memories of having to put up listening to them in some of my High School classes. "Animals", in particular, is torture to the ears. To be honest, I hate Maroon 5 as it is, but that song is just well and truly awful. I wouldn't be disappointed if I could never hear that song again. Speaking of horrible songs from the 2010s, here is another one which brings back unpleasant High School memories... "Call Me Maybe" was literally unavoidable. Kids at my school played it, television stations used it for station promos, radio stations played it almost obsessively. It was awful!

Yeah, Adam Levine's vocals have never sounded so atrocious in anything as they are there. It doesn't help that it's somehow also one of the dullest songs of the decade, not to mention the lyrics suck, too. Yeah, it was definitely one of the most inescapable songs ever. I was actually more estranged from popular music in 2012 than any other year since I was first really introduced to pop, due to the fact that I wasn't impressed by most tracks at the time, but also because top 40 songs were so unpopular at my college, where indie reigned supreme. Despite this, I was still highly aware of "Call Me Maybe"

Despite this, I was still highly aware of "Call Me Maybe" I agree. Their other single release, "Sugar", is just as bad (if not, worse) than "Animals", in my opinion. I'm not sure how popular it was in America, but it reached #6 here and it was one of the biggest hits of 2015. Needless to say that I have never liked it at all. In that regard, it's fortunate that your college was so disinterested in Top-40 music. If you're not a fan of current pop culture, high school is one of the worst places to possibly be.

SkittlesCat
Sorry, but all those songs were terrible. You may have liked them and that's not a problem, but they were awful overall.

How could you tell? Were there any hints that gave me away?
