Hmm, I think @slowpoke1993 deliberately waited until I had made that tally, lol.

It's not even close for me. 2016 was decent for music. 2006 was one of the worst! Actually, I think it was the worst year for music I've lived through, but 2005/2007 give it a run for its money. Was snap/ringtone-rap popular in Canada during 2006? I'd imagine that it would have been, but I wasn't sure if it would have been as popular as it was over in the US. Yes it was. Other stuff was popular too, but honestly even the rock was rock bottom (get it?) that year. 2000-2005 was much better and even 2007 came and was a huge improvement.

I'm biased against 2016 because of how horrible country music was.

Yeah, I often find myself listening to more rock songs from other years of the 2000s than I do from 2006. There were a few good rock songs from that year (e.g "Dani California"), but very few of it was all that memorable IMO. Oh well, at least 2006 gave us "Welcome to the Black Parade". I'm biased against 2016 because of how horrible country music was. But country music is awful every year!

But country music is awful every year! Nah there's still good country around, recent grammy award-winning Kacey Musgraves proves that (hopefully the mainstream country scene will take after her, and leave bro-country in the dust forever).

Neither! I'd lost all interest by 1991.
