The movie "Knowing" by Alex Proyas has an interesting plot but uh..... It's a Nicholas Cage film. The plot is that a professor finds a page of numbers that indicate all of the past tragedies in the last 50 years, and 3 haven't occured yet, so it's up to him to stop them. At the end, a solar flare comes and destroys Earth, rendering everything Nicholas Cage's character did pointless. The movie is also way too serious and the acting is really bad. The worst of it probably comes from Cage himself, who, well...
"Stay away from us, you hear me?! You want some of this?!" (hits a tree with a baseball bat)
Although the plane crash and subway train crash scenes are spectacular. Probably where around 35-50% of the budget went. The CGI is a bit dated but it was made in 2009 so....
Also, this movie was filmed in Melbourne, Australia. Interesting side note.

Generally I dislike movies that are more about style than substance. Or wants you think it's smarter than it is on some quest to be cerebrally hip. Anything by Wes Anderson comes to mind. The Neon Demon. Nocturnal Animals. What a vapid, try-hard movie. The worst movie I seen was 'La La Land' which was the first time I actually walked out of the cinema while it was still playing because it was so overrated and boring. Sorry I know this is old but agreed x10000. And I usually like musicals.

I watched "The Blair Witch Project" on Halloween this year and I have to admit it was a mostly boring experience. I appreciate the occasional tense and heavy atmosphere and the refreshing lack of jump scares and climax music, but the fact it tries to be as believable and real as possible hurt it in many ways, the biggest problem being the big focus on the quite irritating main characters agreeing and not enough on the night scenes (which obviously make the movie). I also don't like the ending. Oh well, I've been told it's a pure product of its time so what can you do I know this is an old post now, but I actually watched "The Blair Witch Project" for the first time in full about a month ago and now I can understand what you mean by the points that you have raised. I have a mixed opinion of "The Blair With Project", to be honest. Overall it was enjoyable to watch, however there were quite a few flaws throughout the movie. The ending definitely could have been better than it was. I think the build-up to it was quite good, but I feel as though the movie shouldn't have abruptly ended after Heather (the last remaining character) was attacked. It just seemed like a cheap, cliche' way to conclude the movie. Something like an epilogue would have really rounded off the storyline, IMO.
