Simple question here. I usually just listen to FM radio (local Triple M stations) for the most part. Though when I’m on long trips I prefer streaming my own playlist through Google Play. So, what about you guys?

I usually listen to FM radio (Wave FM or WSFM 101.7) when i'm just driving locally, if I go on long drives I listen to movie soundtracks via iTunes.

FM Radio, for the most part. Triple M is my favourite radio station and I listen to that station the most when I am in the car, but lately I have actually been finding myself tuning more into i98fm (a local station). The playlist log of Triple M has been a real turn-off for me in recent months; there's only so many times you can listen to songs by AC/DC, Midnight Oil and The Cure. I've never been a fan of The Grill Team or any of Triple M Sydney's drive shows either, so I don't really have any incentive to listen to the station at the moment. i98fm generally has a decent music playlist anyway (besides the Top-40 music). Another reason as to why I predominantly listen to FM radio is because i'm a bit of a radio geek. Sometimes I intentionally switch over to long-distance stations while I am driving (when it's safe to do so, of course!), just to see what the reception is like in certain areas. I also like to conduct an AM/FM bandscan via my car stereo from time to time as well. Sometimes I like to listen to a CD while i'm going on long-distance drives, although I haven't done so in a while. My favourite CD's to listen to would have to be Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory and Meteora, System of a Down's Toxicity and Spiderbait's Greatest Hits. I have about 12-13 other CD's in my collection, but they are the CD's that I tend to listen to the most. On the odd occasion, when there isn't anything else worth listening to, I also like to listen to the songs off a USB stick I've got. I have about 40 songs on the one USB. Half the time though, I just pick one song off the USB to listen to and then I switch it back to the radio. I've never actually streamed anything through my car stereo before. One of my friends has said to me that you can do it while you're on your Green P's, but I don't really want to risk it. You're actually not supposed to have your phone out while you're driving anyway. I've never listened to Podcasts or DAB+ Radio (my car stereo doesn't have that functionality, even though I only bought it in 2016) in my car before.

I don't have my own car, so when I'm driving there's often someone else with me. In that case I let them play their music or the radio; I don't like subjecting others to my music If I'm alone though it is usually a podcast or audiobook. On the bus/train and walking, I usually have a podcast or audiobook playing on my headphones. If I'm coming home ultra stressed, or in a really good mood, or to get myself out of the house in the winter, then I play music from Spotify or my MP3s.

FM radio, usually Triple M. It's a good feeling when a song that you enjoy gets played.
It always astounds me as to how people can listen to podcasts when driving. I'm someone who always goes back in videos/podcasts to hear something again, so that wouldn't work out for me.

I don't drive but if I did, it would be compact discs as I can listen to the stuff I like and not the crap peddled by radio stations. Although I prefer motorbikes anyway.

If I play the podcasts on Pocketcasts, my parents' car and my headphones take the "previous track" button to mean the same thing as rewind in Pocket casts, which I've set to rewind 60 seconds (and "next track" skips 30 seconds ahead).

I don't understand the appeal in podcasts anyway, to be honest. It's essentially like listening to an afternoon drive show on FM radio without the music or any interesting pieces of information...
