Yeah, "I Fall Apart" is pretty much the only Post Malone song worth listening to. I still don't relate to the guy in the least, but that song does have some real punch to its vocals and even some fairly decent production, complete with electric guitar riffs. "Ball for Me" and "Same Bitches", meanwhile, are both regressions to the worst music of 2016 and 2017. Those songs have at least already both fallen out of the iTunes top 3, replaced by "Meant to Be" and "Whatever It Takes", in contrast to "No Tears Left to Cry" holding onto the top spot for almost the entire week after it was released, but I still don't want lifeless trap to survive after all following its seeming decline early this year. I think it was always likely that Trap would still have a significant presence on the charts in 2018, even with the greater diversity that has been brought on by songs such as "Zombie", "Lost in Japan" and "Filthy". In regards to "Ball For Me" and "Same Bitches", i'll definitely take your word for it. Those two songs don't interest me in the slightest.

Two songs off Post Malone's new album, "Better Now" and "Paranoid", have debut at #6 and #7 respectively on the NZ Top-40. Interestingly enough, there are currently no Post Malone songs on the New Zealand iTunes Chart, despite the chart success of the two songs. The NZ iTunes Chart is actually quite interesting to read. "Hunger Strike" by Temple of the Dog (the song is a collaboration between Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell) is currently at #57, while "Barbie Girl" is concurrently at #94. I wonder why those songs are on the iTunes chart?

Hmm, SharksFan99 do you still think ARIA chart is best? I've just seen the updated chart and Post Malone has the top spot with "Psycho" and I counted a whole 16 of his songs in the chart! I wonder why Australians like Post Malone that much? I can only count 5 of his songs on the NZ Chart.

Even though there are 16 songs within the Top-50, there is only one Post Malone song on the iTunes Top-100 chart. He's definitely not as popular as what the ARIA Chart indicates.

Shawn Mendes and Khalid have released a new song called "Youth". In my opinion, the song isn't too bad and it's refreshing to hear a non-EDM/trap song by a current Top-40 artist. Although, I find the lyrics (and the song itself) to be a bit cheesy, to be honest. I appreciate the message that it is trying to convey, but the singalong chorus and midtempo pop backing-track results in it not being as meaningful as it could have been.

It’s a song with perfectly serviceable prodcutuon and a meaningful message, but a lot like Pink’s “What About Us”, it may be a little too serious, or at least too predictable in its delivery. I don’t really feel we need Shawn Mendes and Khalid to remind us about what people already experience constantly in the real world, and while they do at least want to be uplifting, they still sound too vulnerable and too solemn for that sentiment to carry any weight. Personally, I would consider “No Tears Left to Cry” a far stronger fight song within practically the same dark context. The scars are no less explained in that song than they are in “Youth”, but Ariana sounds more ultimately empowered and emancipated, toughened and metamorphisized by her struggle, whereas Mendes and Khalid still seem perpetually insecure about their will to press on.

2018 is turning out to be a really interesting year for music so far, especially with "Nice for what" and "This is America" being really popular songs.
I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like songs are starting to have real meaning again.

2018 is turning to be very strong music-wise, whether it is releases or hit music-wise. I was worried as the 9th year in the 2000s was fairly weak for the decade, but this one year blows 2016 and 2017 out of water so far.
Death Grips and Kanye West are both coming with new albums this year, caaaaaaaannnnnnnn't wait

I just listened to "This Is America" for the first time. I must admit, it's not as bad as what I was expecting it to be. I thought for sure it would have been another awful trap song like "God's Plan" or "Rockstar".
