The Black-Eyed Peas to have another huge Top-10 hit. Wont really happen anytime soon looking at how abysmally bad they did last year.

Ava Max has released a new single, titled "So Am I". I've never particularly liked "Sweet But Psycho", but I personally think that this is a very disappointing follow-up. There's very little that truly distinguishes the two songs apart. The Black-Eyed Peas to have another huge Top-10 hit. Wont really happen anytime soon looking at how abysmally bad they did last year. Fall Out Boy likely won't achieve another Top-10 hit either. My post was only meant to be taken as a joke.

I was wondering where all the political punk songs were in this awful era, and this just happened to pop up on my Spotify

Heard this song multiple times on a Vevo ad of all things. Inspired me to have a look to see what it was called, and accidently found it!
I dislike most current music these days, but I REALLY like this, remnds me of something from the 90s. Feeling Oasis vibes in the chorus for some reason!

Reminds me of something from the 90s. Now you've made me curious as to what it sounds like. I'll have to check it out! Speaking of Yungblud, have you listened to his recent collaboration with Halsey yet? It's called "11 Minutes". To be honest, I wouldn't say that I am a fan of either artist, but I think it's interesting how this song combines elements of emo-rock with EDM-style pop. The drummer who features in the song is actually the drummer from Blink-182!

I've just finished listening to this song for the first time and I must say, i'm pretty impressed. It's a great mixture of Britpop and alternative-rock; I can definitely hear the Oasis influence as well. Forget about Greta Van Fleet. If rock is to make a huge resurgence in the mainstream, Yungblud is the person who could help make that happen.

I forgot to say that I still absolutely love the new Carly Rae Jepsen that is a very great breath of fresh air, and that I'm definitely looking forward to any potential new album from her!
Bonus point: a ridiculously 2000s-sounding song that exploded and dropped off immediately after on "hot new music" channels
Obscure but nice throwback vibe

Yeah, I've heard that her most recent material is of a much higher quality than her stuff from the Early 2010s. "Call Me Maybe" is the only song of Carly Rae Jepsen's that I have ever listened to, so i'm only going by what other people are saying. If that's the case, it's a shame that she will only ever be remembered by a song as cheesy as "Call Me Maybe".

The vocals really remind me of Liam Gallagher in around 2000, when his vocal style became more raspy. The video clip seems very 90s with the colour to black and white flashing and even the clothing. It just screams Britpop to me, which is probably why I like it.

Okay, this song made me geniunely angry. I will go as far as say that this is agreeably one of the worst hits of the decade. This is apparently a charity single, but it is so lowbrow and juvenile yet so raunchy and crass I fail to see what the aimed audience here is. 12 year olds? Although personally as a 12 year old I would have found this insultingly lame. Probably what irks me the most is how it utterly fails at trying to be a "feel-good song with a good message" with how distracting everything else is, from the bad jokes to the plentora of guest vocalists adding nothing of worth. All we're left with is an appalingly written song done on an insanely derivative Dancehall/Afrobeats rhythm.
Why does this kind of stuff not recieve any backlash? A few years ago LMFAO were laughed out of the building for their overly silly lyrics, yet we let Lil Dicky a free pass at putting this kind of meme-bait, offensively bad stuff for humor sake?
Absolutely what I needed to cure the bad taste out of my mouth! A hautingly beautiful telling with Florence's misty and ethereal voice for the peace of mind.

So I was just briefly looking back at the Top-40 around early 2015 and its surprising to see how much music trends have shifted over the past 4 years.
Some of the songs I found like these are just way too generically pop to be released in 2019 at all imo.
^Sounds very dated already.

longaotianYep! You could argue that the majority of songs from 2015 sound relatively outdated now. Even a song such as "Whip (Nae Nae)" would sound completely out of place if it was on the Top-40 charts in 2019.
