Blink-182 dropped a new single yesterday...and it's not what you expect. The song features elements of electronica and has a pop-orientated sound. To be honest, I don't particularly like it, although I guess you have to give them credit for branching out of their style of music. Not a big fan either. Reminds me of something from Imagine Dragons. Yeah, it just reeks as being a desperate attempt to try and stay relevant. I can't see it becoming a hit though. People's reviews of it have mostly been negative.

I'm starting to get tired of hearing Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy" so often. I was originally pleased over the fact that an "alternative" artist was becoming the next big thing in music, but every time I listen to either of her songs, the shallowness and immaturity of her output only becomes more apparent to me. She really comes across as being a try-hard. It actually annoys me a bit that people see Billie as being this "unique" and "alternative" artist, when her image/ music is the exact opposite of that; it doesn't have any substance at all.

Halsey has released a new song. I'm really starting to get tired of hearing trap snares in almost every new pop release...
In other news, Slipkot released this new song a couple of days ago. To be honest, I've never been much of a fan of their music, but this song is okay. It's at #14 on the Australian iTunes Chart at the moment. It's even trending at #6 on YouTube, which interestingly enough, is better than how Halsey is performing on there.

This is why im getting so annoyed. People who love to talk about listening to Billie Eilish think they are being all cool and Indie and stuff. But the reality is she's just a very mainstream pop star with subpar music, lol. Her whole image feels very forced.

Her music just screams 'try hard to be edgy' for me. Her vocals are dull with no power and depth with a bland beat. Makes me think that I can have a music career.

Im actually kinda liking Ed Sheeran's new song. I actually haven't listened to that yet. What do you think of his collaboration with Justin Bieber? I think it's awful.

I'm really liking this new punk song that has been released by a band called The Interrupters. I've heard it a few times on B-Rock now and I think it's really good.

I haven't actually listened to the whole song yet, but from the parts that ive heard it doesnt seem like anything good. Anyways, Katy Perry has just released a new song. Once again nothing great but to be fair its sounds better than the other stuff she has released recently.

Machine Gun Kelly has teamed up with YUNGBLUD and Travis Barker from Blink-182 to release a new song, "I think i'm OKAY". It's not terrible, but I think the chorus sounds really safe and pedestrian. Even Travis Barker's drumming isn't anything to write home about. YUNGBLUD's vocals are definitely the highlight of this song, IMO.

Post Malone has released a new single, titled "Goodbyes". It has already debuted within the Top-10 in Australia, NZ and the UK. Listening to this just frustrates me, to be honest. Post Malone is more than capable of releasing something with much greater substance, yet he is insistent on releasing the same run-of-the mill hip-hop songs. It's clear that he is talented. He has covered Nirvana's "All Apologies", performed with bands such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers and and was even in a heavy metal band before he made it big. Really, he's wasting his potential.

Looks like "Old Town Road" broke the Billboard record of most consecutive weeks at number 1, previously hold by Mariah Carey & Boyz-II-Men's "On Sweet Day" and Louis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee's "Despacito".
If you told someone a year ago that a collaboration between a 20 year old rapper and Billy Rae Cyrus would have broke that record, it's fair to say you would have been laughed off out the building.
