Really like this recent release from Yungblud: It's okay, although to be honest, it's not a song I see myself ever returning to. I still think "Loner" is the best song Yungblud has released so far.

DJ Earworm just released a showdown of 2009 vs 2019 where two songs of each year get mashuped together:
Pretty cool comparisons!

I'm not usually a fan of remixes or mashups, but I've got to admit that video was done pretty well.

Looks like "Old Town Road" broke the Billboard record of most consecutive weeks at number 1, previously hold by Mariah Carey & Boyz-II-Men's "On Sweet Day" and Louis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee's "Despacito". If you told someone a year ago that a collaboration between a 20 year old rapper and Billy Rae Cyrus would have broke that record, it's fair to say you would have been laughed off out the building. Trap and country coming together is what I'd expected a hardcore pessimist to predict. In the same vein, I think Cardi B will win the Grammys next year and with a collab with Iggy Azalea.

*Cue the "pop-punk" is making a comeback" calls: I've been starting to hear this song on my Top-40 station quite a lot over the past week or so. It's an EDM song fused in a pop-punk style and features elements of country. "One Thing Right" is currently at #12 on the ARIA Chart and it has been rising over the past six weeks. Speaking of new releases, 5 Seconds of Summer have just released their second single from their forthcoming album, titled "Teeth". I actually don't think this is all that bad. It's an industrial-rock inspired song and it even features Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine on the guitar. There's a bit of a nice guitar solo right at the end as well. It's currently trending at #5 on YouTube and it is also at #10 on the Australian iTunes Chart, so hopefully it will debut on the Top-40 singles charts sometime soon. ...and Miley Cyrus has also released a new song. The guitar chords during the intro remind me of "Lightning Crashes" by Live.

"Old Town Road"'s 19-week run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 has come to an end, with Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy" now occupying the top spot. To be honest, I think I would prefer to see "Senorita" reach the #1 position, even though i'm not particularly a fan of that song either.

The collab "Señorita" is apparently number 1 in the US this week! Cool, I quite like it.
It seems that the US have officially stopped their late 2010s-tirade against straight forward Pop music.
And by the looks of it, I'm predicting that "Truth Hurts" might go to number 1 as well in one week or two. Which is interesting considering it was originally released in 2017.

Honestly, i'm not really surprised that "Senorita" has went to #1 in the US, because Mendes' and Cabello's performance of the song at the MTV Music Awards generated a lot of buzz on social media. I believe Lizzo also performed at the event as well, so I agree that her song will most like top the charts sometime soon. Just as a side note, besides hearing snippets of it on TV, I actually don't think I've ever listened to "Truth Hurts". I know for a fact that it hasn't received any radio airplay on our Top-40 stations. Then again, I think it has only peaked at #18 here in Australia, so it's not the mega-hit like it is in the US.

You could also say the same for "Bad Guy" because one that was another huge hit this year and two Billie Eilish is one of the most talked about artists in 2019. Plus it reached no. 1 on the charts before "Senorita" did.

I've been hearing this indie-pop song on the radio a number of times over the past two weeks and I quite like it, it reminds me of Florence & The Machine. It hasn't yet reached the ARIA Chart here in Australia, however it's currently at #25 on our iTunes chart and it has been slowly climbing up the chart. "Castles" is currently within the Top-20 over in the UK.

My prediction was correct I'm glad for her success, her new album is great and she seems to be a sweetheart from the interviews I saw from her.

Post Malone has released a new collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne. It seems like Post Malone's new album might be more guitar/acoustic-driven than his earlier releases.
