See this is why I like Post. I consider him diverse if you ask me. In a sense, but I still don't believe he is living up to his full potential though. He is capable of doing so much more if he really put his mind to it and stopped trying to appease the hip-hop community.

Green Day have a new song out, the title track of their upcoming album.
The comments about it sounding like something from FIFA are certainly accurate I think! I like the music, but i'm not too keen on the vocal distortion.

Jeez, I came to the realisation earlier that this song was released 5 years ago this month. Five years! This was such a massive hit here at the time.

If you needed any evidence to prove that Trap may slowly be on the way out, this song would surely have to be it. "Don't Call Me Angel" has performed dreadfully on the Top-40 charts, despite the star-studded names attached to the song. I mean, when you have a Trap song which features vocals from Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Ray, you would expect it to debut at the top of the charts and remain within the Top-10 for weeks. In the US, it didn't even debut within the Top-10 and now it has plummeted down to #71 after just three weeks.

This song hit top ten in many countries except the US, which is starting to get big there.

This song hit top ten in many countries except the US, which is starting to get big there. I'm sick of that song, to be honest. It has been number-one on the charts here in Australia for 12 consecutive weeks now and i'm starting to get tired of hearing it on the radio so often.

Got remembered of this Jason Derulo song from 2010 and finally a song I don't hate from him! Nice melody, catchy chorus, very early 2010s production with the lovely buzzy and glitchy synths and a distorted guitar line to compliment. The lyrics are so-so but what can you do.

Katy Perry has released a new song titled "Harleys in Hawaii". Her career has generally been on the decline ever since the electropop era came to an end over six years ago, but this is a new low even for her. I really feel as though she is just phoning it in by this point. Part of the problem is down to the fact that her career is directionless and has been for quite some time. It would seem as though Katy and her record producers are throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks, however nothing is coming off to great effect. In "Never Really Over", she returns back to her electropop roots, but this single sees her dropping that style/aesthetic altogether and going for a minimalist, "summery" R&B sound. This wouldn't be an issue if there had been genuine passion or enthusiasm gone into making this. She doesn't sound engaged at all, to the point where it comes across as her singing someone's else's song against her own will. I can't see this performing well on the Top-40 charts. "Small Talk" was a pretty lacklustre follow-up to "Never Really Over".

Apparently the new Katy Perry single is doing so bad that people are wondering if it's gonna even crack the Billboard 100 (at best it would be the 100th position). That is insanely bad for a third single of a pop album that has yet to be released.

I'm kind of not surprised to hear that, because over in the UK, "Harleys in Hawaii" has only reached a peak of #46 on their charts. In fact, it has only charted within the Top-40 in two countries so far and they are Australia and Sweden. Talk about a massive fall from grace!

Speaking of "Dance Monkey", this week marks the 13th-consecutive week that it has been on top of the Australian ARIA Chart, equaling the record set by Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road". It is also the first Australian song to top the Spotify Global Chart. I honestly don't understand the appeal in it and it puzzles me how "Dance Monkey" is performing so well overseas. The singing and that fake 'accent' are awful.

Well, a piano ballad is currently #1 on the Billboard charts right now:

Well, a piano ballad is currently #1 on the Billboard charts right now: Dethroned by another ballad Wow are we seeing another adult contemporary era? Apparently the new Katy Perry single is doing so bad that people are wondering if it's gonna even crack the Billboard 100 (at best it would be the 100th position). That is insanely bad for a third single of a pop album that has yet to be released. Also that song did even worse than imagined. It entered at number 10 on the "the Bubbling Under 100" chart which is basically position #110. And I don't think it will fare much better. Thus making it her biggest Billboard flop to date :s

Does anyone else find Dance Monkey to fit in sort of weirdly to the current sound? At first I was wondering if it was from a soundtrack or something.
