Yet another indie-pop song that is set to chart within the ARIA Top-50, at least according to this article. Although, it wouldn't be so bad if this achieved success, since it's her debut single. Robinson is actually a New Zealander, however she is signed with Sony Music Australia. No doubt, the Australian public will try to claim her as our own, like with most New Zealand musicians.

www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100Unbelievable. "God's Plan" is still at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. I think it could very well be the "Shape of You" of 2018, unfortunately.

Fortunately though, it did, at long last, fall off the top spot in the UK, where "These Days" by Rudimental, Jess Glynne, and Macklemore now reigns supreme. It's a much better song than "God's Plan". Maybe not the greatest song of the decade or anything, but certainly more deserving of a #1 peak, regardless. "In My Blood" debuted at #13. Not a bad start, though I'd love to see it reach the top 10 if possible and not suffer "Filthy" syndrome. "Lost in Japan" is at #30.

nztop40.co.nzNot surprising at all that "Gods Plan" is still at #1 on the NZ Top 40. Also, Ed Sheeran seems to be making some sort of come back with 3 of his songs re-entering the chart and "Shape of You" rising 13 places . At least "In My Blood" has debuted at #13 and I don't mind "Freaky Friday" at #2, lol.

I wonduh why "God's Plan" is still at numbuh wun in multiple countwies, yet in the UK, it not only fell fwom #1 this week, but tumbled all the way down to numbuh ten. Whatevuh the case, it would suwe be nice to see some mowe cweative songs weach numbuh 1, and not just anothuh Dwake song at the top fow months at a time.

To be honest, I don't think "God's Plan" will stay at #1 for as long as "Shape of You" did, only because Scawy Hours isn't as popular as Divide. It will likely lose it's position sometime soon. There's a good chance that "Meant to Be" will top the Billboard Hot 100 in a week or two, in my opinion.

I just checked the new charts for this week and "God's Plan" has slipped from #1 position to #2 on the NZ Top 40. That's a good thing! I've noticed too that "In My Blood" has slipped down to #19 on the NZ Top-40. Hopefully it doesn't experience the same fate as "Filthy" by Justin Timberlake. Just as a side note, i'm really surprised that "Nothing to Regret" by Robinson (I shared the song in an earlier post) isn't in the NZ Top-40, especially considering the fact that she is a New Zealander.

Yeah, I noticed "In My Blood" slipping aswell. Actually it's quite strange that "Nothing to Regret" hasn't made the Top-40 over here, it is getting played a lot on the big radio stations.

Also, "Love Lies" at #3 isn't bad, buts it's really overrated. On the Edge countdown, it has been #1 for about a week now and even the presenters admitted they're getting pretty sick of it. A big reason I find it annoying is Khalid.(no offence) but I find his voice really annoying, and "Young Dumb and Broke" and "Silence" being really overplayed didn't help. "Call Out My Name" by The Weeknd just debuted at #10 which is good and I really like "Freaky Friday" at #1, so not everything is terrible.

I haven't listened to "Love Lies" yet, so I can't really make a comment on it. Although, I agree that Khalid's voice is a bit annoying. In the end, whenever "Young, Dumb and Broke" started playing on the radio, I would always change the station, because I was starting to get sick of hearing his toneless, dull vocals.

So, that “Freaky Friday” song between Lil Dicky and Chris Brown is this week’s #1 in the UK. I suppose it’s at least novel in some way, but so far, I’ve heard pretty some pretty scathing comments towards it.
“In My Blood” fell down 3 slots, to #16. That’s at least not as rapid a collapse as “Filthy”, but I’m disappointed that the top 40 has so far alluded it, even though Mendes did plenty well with his older, less mature material in just the past few years. “Lost in Japan”, sadly, is already way down to #70; NOT a song that deserves to be forgotten so quickly, if you ask me.
By the way, my copy of Now 99 arrived this week - I’m listening to it as I type this - so I’ll be sure to write up my top 10 songs of 2018 so far soon.
