Just looking at the updated NZ Top 40, "Nothing To Regret" by Robinson just debuted at #34. Also, "God's Plan" is now at #3 nztop40.co.nzI noticed that as well. It's strange that it took so long for "Nothing To Regret" to chart within the NZ Top-40, especially since you mentioned that it is getting a lot of airplay on radio stations at the moment!

Y'all h8in'. Those are two very hot tracks by Drake 😎 I like Nice for What more than God's Plan. Drake has already earned more than enough success this decade. I'd prefer the charts to be topped by something based on musical merit, like "Havana" finally did earlier this year. As far as Drake's songs go, "Find Your Love," "Hold On, We're Going Home", "Take Care", and even "Best I Ever Had" were all far more deserving of a #1 peak than these extremely middling mumble-trap songs. I'd agree that "Nice for What" is way better than "God's Plan", but after such a long period of Drake being at #1 already, it would have been nice to see something more surprising top the charts. I will say this though, I'd far rather have something fun and positive like "Nice for What" top the charts than something cringeworthy and premised on shock value alone, like "Freaky Friday" last week. I heard that song a few days ago, and it's quite a fascinating trainwreck. It's almost so bad it's good, but the n-word section during the first verse more than crosses the line I'm comfortable with, especially in this day and age. Also, this may be less shameful than the aforementioned, but don't you dare flirt with the idea of turning Kendall Jenner into a pop star.

It’s been at #3 here in the UK for several weeks now. I’m already exhausted of hearing it over and over. Chris Brown passed his peak a long time ago

It kind of sounds like it could be released in 2014, which IMO was the worst year for music of the 2010's so far. In fact, I think the last time Chris Brown had a very popular song was in 2014 I think. I don't really listen to Chris Brown a lot, so I'm not exactly sure.

It sounds like it's from 2014 because it was produced by DJ Mustard, and the pop music of 2014 was absolutely dominated by that guy, despite his profile slipping a bit in the years subsequent. Chris Brown had DJ Mustard-branded hits in 2014 with both "Show Me", where he was a guest, and "Loyal", where he was the main star; that song is even worse than "Freaky Friday".

Looks like Australians would like to continue listening to "God's Plan" Unfortunately. At least "Zombie" is currently topping the iTunes Chart, which is some consolation.

I actually never knew that. That's interesting to know. And I agree with Loyal being a terrible song IMO. I was never really a fan of that song when it first came out and my opinions still haven't changed.

Does anyone know when Billboard are planning on implementing the changes to how they calculate music on the single charts? I've tried researching more information about it, but there haven't been any more developments in a few months now. Whatever the case, it definitely needs to happen. The fact that the singles off Ed Sheeran's Divide are still within the Top-40 charts around the world (despite the album being released over a year ago), shows that the current system is flawed. It's not a truly accurate way of measuring which songs are popular among listeners.
Even though "God's Plan" has been at #1 on the ARIA Chart for 11 weeks, I have hardly heard it being played on the radio and I listen to the radio almost daily. It's really not as popular as what it's position on the charts indicate.

I've wondered this too. I'd really want the change to happen to see how much it could influence pop culture. I think it would have a pretty big influence on the trajectory of pop culture. In such a scenario, I actually think rock music could make a bit of a comeback.
