Overall 2008. Though the latter half of 2009 was one of the happiest times of my life.

There were definitely some sucky aspects to the era. Nobody will deny the economy was awful. As for politics, even though Bush was president people were so anxious for him to leave. I remember there was a push to vote for Obama. It repeated itself again in 2020 when everyone wanted to vote for Biden. I’m sorry your personal life sucked at the time. I liked the era though as a whole, although I WAS eight years old so I do have more rose-tinted glasses. I recall the late 2000s were slow years because the Bush presidency dragged on. Trump’s presidency felt slower than Bush’s and Obama’s presidencies combined though Bush and Obama each lasted 8 years, while Trump lasted 4 years. 2008 and 2020 are rat years according to Chinese astrology. Both years saw the stock market crash, a terrible economy and the election of a Democrat. Thank you. I learnt my lessons and grew up. I am in a much better place now. You are fine. I am glad you liked the late 2000s. They have their perks. I am nostalgic for 2019. I may be looking at 2019 with rose-tinted glasses. I tend to forget about the mass shootings and other negative news from 2019. My personal life in 2019 was amazing. The fact my personal life in 2017 was so awful is one reason I view them with jaded glasses. I’ve seen this with many people, like how Telso hates 2014 because his life sucked that year. It’s totally understandable, as how you’re living in the year in my opinion is more important than the pop culture of the year. I might view 2017 as a shitty year for pop culture, but I’m sure I would’ve enjoyed the year more had my personal life been better, and if I’m being honest, there ARE some highlights of the year, hell, I’d say that even about 2020 (even though most of us agree the year was awful).

The Bush 2 era went by SO FAST I swear
The Trump Era went slow AF, like a snail in the mud
The Obama era felt very slow, I am going to go on record and say this era was the slowest of them all

It's presidents like Obama and Clinton that result in politics being perceived as boring.
