Something I noticed about the 2000s is the minor 2006 shift. I think this was shift was more pronounced as the years went on. During the year of 2006 I don't think we really had a grasp of what we were witnessing at the time. Everything that happened in 2006 had MAJOR effects for the rest of the decade and early 2010s.... No I am serious (Cues 2006 shift meme)
I will use bullet points to maxamize my theory
. Facebook was unveiled to the public without a school e-mail in late August/early September . Timbaland bridged the GAP to get to ElectroPop (Gaga Said 2006's Loose by Nelly Furtado inspired her) . Malcolm and That 70s show end and end Fox's Sunday Night hold . The WB becomes CW and changed television . WWE's changes RAW's theme and Logo . Sonic enters its massive decline with the release of SONIC 2006 . PS3 and Wii debut, 7th GEN in FULL SWING . Disney channel in full swing in its 2.0 era (Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers) .Youtube becomes a household name ( was on the cover of 2006s TIME magazine) . TRLs ratings decline (rumors of cancellations swirl) massive chain reaction for MTV . Hipster fashion starts in its beta stage . Blackberry pearl debuts, becomes the first smart phone targeted to Teens
