No two people experienced the 2000s the same way, as people have different life experiences, upbringings, interests etc. There's never going to be a "right" or "wrong" answer as to how '2000s' a certain year was, so it's best just to say that the period of time between the 1st January 2000 and the 31st December 2009 was 100% 2000s.
