What do you think was more exciting ?
Going to be honest with you, I feel like The 2000s had better movies and better atmosphere to watch them in. The only downside was not all of them had stadium seating. For the most part they did.

They're not too dissimilar from each other really. If you're going to watch a movie that you are interested in, chances are that it's going to be an exciting experience for you. The only major difference that I can think of is that the seating is generally a lot better than how it was during the 2000s. Most cinemas have more than adequate leg room and some even have recliners.

I remember theaters that served meals being really trendy in the 00's. They still exist but it's not the hot new thing to do anymore. At that point there was a lot of fear with increased prices and home viewing capabilities that the theater would become a thing of the past, so there were some gimmicky things like that going on. I think generally, the actual going to the movies itself is as much of an "experience" that was really required.
In my area at least, a bunch of small little strip mall theaters closed in the 00's in favor of the very large theaters with the reclining seats. Though there is still a "budget" bare bones theater that remains popular. I
As for quality of films, many for me are having a hard time competing with the more fleshed out stories found in today's tv series.

I don't notice a huge difference except the 2010s has those seats that shake or blow air on your face. I forget what they're called but you have to pay more for them.

Me either, the only thing I can see that's remotely different is the movies themselves. Going to see an R-rated movie while underaged isn't as risky as it use to be just like how buying an m-rated game underage is not the edgy thing to do anymore.

Cinemas in the 2010s explore more gimmicks like 4D, offer services like 3D on a more widespread scale (it was still seen mostly as a novelty in the 2000s rather than a commodity) and projections are more immersive than ever before due to improving technology.
That's what I can think of for the differences.

People actually didn't card for video games in the 2000s. I bought tons of M-rated games when I was a teen (and as a kid, when shopping with my parents though) . The idea of being carded for video games was 100% whack at the time. The rating system wasn't something enforceable as far as I was concerned, it was just a helpful suggestion for stricter parents. The first time I was carded for video games ironically was in 2010 when I was already 17. It was at Blockbuster during their clearance sale.I was so furious; I didn't even have my ID on me. It was good that I was just a 10 minute walk from my house. I was happy Blockbuster was going away after that incident. Who the hell cards for video games? Unfortunately, I was carded for video games multiple times after that too.

2000s since in the 2010s you can have access to so many HD movies anyway and i hear nowadays people can watch the leaked movie on the internet around the same time the movie is being shown in cinemas.

I prefer 2001-2005 for cinema and then 2008-2010ish, there were tons of medicore films in 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 and 2005-2007 but also some good movies to be fair but the cinema experience didn't feel as exciting during those years. Most of the 2010s cinema was better in terms of screens and picture quality and hype but tons of lackluster films with some exceptions. Tbh Prefer going to the cinema in 1989-1996 more than the the late 90s to the 2020s, especially for films like ninja turtles films, lion king, power rangers the movie which was much more of an experience than anything the last three decades had to offer.

The movie looked beautiful on the Silver screen lol
