2000s since in the 2010s you can have access to so many HD movies anyway and i hear nowadays people can watch the leaked movie on the internet around the same time the movie is being shown in cinemas. this started happening around 2006 but it became even more popular in the 2010s and was only accessible for 4 years of the 00s decade.

I think you are underestimating how widespread this was in the late 2000s lol Spider-Man 3's trailer leaked incomplete without VFX months before it was suppose to come out, stuff like that you would think only started getting big in the 2010s

I prefer 2001-2005 for cinema and then 2008-2010ish, there were tons of medicore films in 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 and 2005-2007 but also some good movies to be fair but the cinema experience didn't feel as exciting during those years. Most of the 2010s cinema was better in terms of screens and picture quality and hype but tons of lackluster films with some exceptions. Tbh Prefer going to the cinema in 1989-1996 more than the the late 90s to the 2020s, especially for films like ninja turtles films, lion king, power rangers the movie which was much more of an experience than anything the last three decades had to offer. The movie looked beautiful on the Silver screen lol I thought that movie was kick ass when I saw it the theatres, I love that pre-digital feel, despite it not getting the best reviews, there was also a lot of cool toy merch around that time I remember the mcdonalds happy meal toys from 95. I miss when there was no drastic CGI interfering in everything, 1995 was probably the last year.

2002 was another golden year for movies next to 1999. 2000 and 2001 were kind of mediocre overall but there were some really really good films, a few would be the best in the decade, so I cant just brush off those years entirely, 2003 was a watered down version of 2002 with films, which still makes it good, but to be honest you did start seeing a few signs of the cringy film elements just start to creep in that would become more apparent later in the decade (vapid 00s style plots, soulless excessive CGI and artificial feeling digital elements, forced acting/overacting), but was still a really good year overall.
I think 2002-04 and 2008-2009 are the best periods in films and cinema. For the 2010s its probably late 2009 to 11-12 then 2019. Cinema was more exciting in the 2010s but not so often when you are watching it, more to do with anticipation behind it ex. star wars movies and avatar for example, 2000s had more overall satisfying films (lord of the rings trilogy, kill bill trilogy etc) and more of treat to go to movies, also because there was a drastic difference between dvd/vhs quality, you only a had a limited selection of 360p resolution films you would find on YouTube or through torrenting or very very early streaming sites which still weren't mainstream, people forget that. Watching movies on the big screen and in better quality was a real reason to also see a movie, that wasn't as much of a focus in the 2010s.

As far as Cinema culture. The 2000s had more excitement to it. People talked about movies in theaters back then since it was a pre-Netflix/HBO max era. Cinema culture is still big today (even in a pandemic) but people have less of an incentive to go versus 20 years ago.

Literally this, even tho we have bigger IMAX screens compared what we had in the 2000s ( all we had back then was Standard Digital screens, with the exception of Dark Knight in 08) movies back in the 2000s just felt more electricity, like you felt something personal

I remember when rainbow told me that she never went to a cinema before a few years back. It shocked me because everyone I knew went a theater at least once between after the age of 5.
