Do you like the year you were born in or do you wish that you could have been born earlier/later?
As for myself, I personally wish that I could have been born ten years earlier. I would have loved to have experienced my childhood in the '90s and experience the hype towards the new millennium.

I'm born in 2000 and I actually kinda like when I was born. I always use this to my advantage to distance myself from people younger or older then me depending on the situation. I don't really wish i was born any other time tbh, however it would have been nice to be born a few years earlier and then I could have been alive in the 90s, I mean technically I was but that doesn't really count lol . However, if I was to pick another year to be born in I think I would definitely pick 1980. This way I get to be a 80s kid, 90s teen, and late 90s/early 2000s old teenager/uni student. That would've been awesome to experience but oh well not everyone got to be born in 1980. No offence to people born after me, but I certainly don't wish I was born any later. Too many years later, and I wouldnt really know much of a world without excessive technology use, people constantly on their phones etc. Tbh this has been occurring ever since like the 80s, but I'm glad I got to experience the early/mid 2000s before everything really started to change. Even kids born just a few years after me had quite I different childhood by my observations. Getting my dumb phone and iPod touch at 12 years old, is a lot different to getting an iPad when you were 5.

I was born in 2008. I think it is okay. I may have too much technology in some people opinion. But i go outside too. It would we nice to be born in 2004 so i do not have to deal with the Coppa law. There needs to be a young one,I guess! lol I agree there needs to be someone young here, or else we don't get to see your guys opinions aswell. I don't doubt that you go outside or that you have a lot of technology, however its just my preference that I wouldn't want to be born in 2008, that doesn't mean I've got anything against you though, that would be ageist (lol if I were u don't wish u were born in 2004 either ).

I wouldn't either, to be honest. I know i'm generalising here, but I feel as though people around our age were the last to experience their childhood without excess technology usage. We can both remember a time before Facebook, YouTube and Twitter and with the exception of the iPhone in the Late 2000s (although, they were too expensive for most people), smartphones simply weren't around.

Fun Generational Fact I thought I was a late 2000s because i was born in 2008. My opinion is that core schildhoood is 4-8 because now i do not feel like a child much. And at 4 i stopped feeling like a toddler . Imo that's fine that you think your core childhood was age 4-8, however just remember your still in your childhood now. In a few years time when your a teenager and adult, that might change because people change and you'll probably look back at your 9 year old self and remember your childhood from then

In a way, I like the fact that I was born in 1999, because I was born in my favourite decade for pop culture. However, with being born in 1999, I wasn't able to properly experience the '90s at all, which is something that I dislike about it. :/

I’d hate to have being much younger growing up in the technology-obsessed era of the mid to late 2000s with smart phones everywhere, social media etc etc. I mean, yes technology was present in the mid to late 90s of course but not to this degree and there was no Facebook, Twitter taking up everyone’s attention. Plus the news cycle wasn’t really 24/7 like it is now due to these platforms. You also didn’t get given a phone by your parents when you were like 9-10 years of age (or younger). I never got my first phone until I was well into High School lol. 😋 90s nostalgia right here with this song by Hanson:

Even though, I don't think the Mid 2000's (2004-2006) were as technology-obsessed as today. The only social media website I remember being popular at the time was Myspace. Facebook & Twitter didn't become widespread until about 2008/2009, if I remember correctly. As for smartphones, they only really exploded in popularity in 2010, around the time the first iPad and tablets became available on the market. I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it anyway. I personally didn't get my first phone until three months before my 13th birthday. Eww, Hanson. Although, I can understand why it would make you feel nostalgic for the time. There's certain songs from the 2000's which make me feel the same way, even though I don't actually like them.

Yes and yes. People are far too reliant on technology these days. I’d seriously fear what the younger generation (I feel old saying that 😛) would do if Facebook went completely offline. There was a joke going around years ago that they’d be wandering around aimlessly writing on actual walls. This is so true! 😜 I also prefer the 90s as that’s where the classic Australian children’s TV cartoons/game shows etc were at. Examples being ‘Download’, ‘Y?’, ‘Wipeout’, ‘A*mazing’, ‘Pick Your Face’ amongst others. There’s nothing these days which is a shame. 😞

The '90s were a great decade for Australian children's TV. A few of my favourites are "Round The Twist" and "Bananas in Pyjamas". I know it's slightly off-topic, but it was also a great time for Australian music. Silverchair and Spiderbait are personally one of my favourite bands and I like quite a number of tracks released by other artists as well, such as "Coma" by Max Sharam. All in all, the '90s were great.

MySpace was shit anyways and it died fairly quickly with the masses once FB came along. Yep, I was around that age when I got my first phone too. Parents now give them to their kids far too early IMO. Hanson were freaking huge back in the late 90s. But I never said I liked Hanson. 😜 Just brings back so many memories of much better times haha.

The ’Power Rangers’ (original late-90s series) was pretty good too. Then there’s ‘Genie From Down Under and ‘Ship to Shore’.
