I agree. The '90s were a great decade for Australian children's TV. A few of my favourites are "Round The Twist" and "Bananas in Pyjamas". I know it's slightly off-topic, but it was also a great time for Australian music. Silverchair and Spiderbait are personally one of my favourite bands and I like quite a number of tracks released by other artists as well, such as "Coma" by Max Sharam. All in all, the '90s were great. *That should be “wandering“. Stupid spellcheck! 😜 Yeah, ‘Round The Twist’ was another personal favourite - the opening theme song! 😍. The ’Power Rangers’ (original late-90s series) was pretty good too. Haha. I've never watched the Power Rangers, to be honest!

Haha. I've never watched the Power Rangers, to be honest! Full episodes would be available on YouTube if you were ever interested. 😉 They still make it but like with most old classics it’s utter rubbish. Much like the classic ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’, ‘Fireman Sam’ etc that have been CGI’d to death. 😣

Did you hear about "The Magic School Bus" being rebooted as a CGI series on Netflix?

Btw about the smartphone thing, when I got my first cellphone I just got a crappy Nokia dumb phone. Most people didn't actually have smartphones when I first went to High School, not even the seniors. Then within the next 2-3 years literally nearly evryone in the entire school has an iPhone all of a sudden.

I started High School in late January 2012, which was basically within the midst of the transition (at least here in Australia). It seemed like everyone bought a smartphone during those first few months. Smartphones were still a bit of a novelty at the time and I remember everyone at my school would compare each other's phones. Most people owned HTC's or Samsung Galaxy's. My first phone was a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.

But Like you said, I think that 2012 was transitional. 2012 was when a lot of people did start getting smartphones and was becoming more common. I would say by the time 2013 ended, everyone had a smartphone by then. And if you didn't have a smartphone by the time 2014/5 rolled around, it would be like what the hell and it would be quite surprising. All these year 7s walking around with iPhone 7 smh, soon everyone's gonna have iPhone X.

Not sure why I’d hate the year I was born, especially since I can’t change it.

Not sure why I’d hate the year I was born, especially since I can’t change it. True, but if you don't like the pop culture you grew up in, then it's understandable why some people might not.

Nothing wrong with it but I wish I had been born earlier (no more than 12 years earlier though) to really appreciate the great music of the decade of my childhood.

In fact, that's exactly how I feel about my own birth year. I was born in 1999 (sorry if I make you feel old ), but I wish I could have been born ten years earlier, so I could experience the '90s and all the great music that was released during it.

1992 was an okay year, but certainly not one of the more memorable years from the last two decades of the 20th Century, in my opinion. Popular music was still in a mild recession due to overly peppy house/early hip hop productions, as well as worn out adult contemporary being primary influences as opposed to the more fleshed out material of the 1980s in general and diverse, innovative styles that were common later in the 90s. Cinema in 1992 was mostly forgettable; I'm not even really that big a fan of Aladdin.
