It has changed a little bit, although it hasn't been anything drastic. We have been in Late 2010s culture since Trump was elected, IMO.

I think pop music in 2017 is kind of different from pop music in 2013. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I think songs like "Maroon 5 - What Lovers Do ft. SZA" and "Mi Gente" would sound out of place if they were released in 2013.

I think this has been one of the best years for music in this decade. Hip-hop is really good this year IMO

I'm not really a fan of most of the songs released this year, but I still think 2017 has been a much better year for music than 2016.

Unfortunately we're still barely removed from the cultural late 2010s, even if 2021 leans slightly early 2020s with Joe Biden's presidency, 9th generation gaming and all things COVID related. 2018 = peak of the late 2010s IMO, so that's where I'm gonna compare from. I think today's world is very removed from 2018's. You got COVID, Biden, ninth generation consoles. Even music-wise you got different styles of trap since 2018. 2018 was mainly Soundcloud era with 6ix9ine, Lil Pump, XXXTentacion, Juice WRLD, and Trippie Redd being amongst the biggest rappers, that's obviously not the case now. EDM was still huge in 2018 but not in 2021. TikTok barely started in late 2018, not getting popular until 2019, and look at the cultural force it has now.
