Interesting to see that the results are almost equally split! I get what OP is trying to say, having been born in the late 80s I was able to witness the 1996 & 2006 shifts, the 2016 one was similar in thatregard as it was a SMALL slow shift. Just because I personally felt as though pop culture was starting to target an age group younger than myself, doesn't necessarily mean that there was one of those infamous, life-changing "shifts" that year.
