I was too young to have properly experienced 2002, but it's definitely a year I wish I could have lived through at an older age. I've only got a couple of vague memories of Early 2002.

Having been in 8th grade I can tell you 100% this school year was one of the best of the 2000s. It was really interesting in that EVERYONE was patriotic in the aftermath of 9/11 you would see flags everywhere being sold. By the time we got to Jan 2002 as picture above culture started evening itself out a bit, we had cool shows like The Osbournes, even WWF was popular again briefly due to Hulk Hogan coming back (before we knew he was racist ) XBOX, ps2, and Gamecube were THE systems and the old gen was gone forever. It was pretty exciting to say the least. Crazy of all in the USA we were in the middle of a MINI recession, but no one was really aware of that.

Bah, that jingoism and chest beating is what got us into this mess in the first place. I don’t remember it fondly. From a personal life perspective, frankly I don’t remember much. This was the latter half of 6th grade for me and I remember being in a science class sitting next to a girl I liked but that’s pretty much it.

That's an awesome month. I had just gotten my PlayStation 2 a couple weeks before and was playing a whole lot of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. Even though I was a teenager by that point, I was still watching some Cartoon Network, particularly Toonami. I didn't go online a lot back then, but did occasionally get on my parents Compaq computer, with dial-up of course, on log on to AOL Messenger to chat with my buddies. Kids didn't have mobile phones yet, and there wasn't any social media. A very different era.

This was actually the point I slowly stopped watching Toonami, I remember the original dragon ball reruns being on at 5:30 tho. I kept up a little bit just not as much in the past.

I was in Grade 4. It's when I started hating school, lol.
Yu-gi-oh! was huge. Dragon Ball Z was still popular. Pokémon and Digimon still big too, though not as much as in 1999 obviously. I think Sonic X and Kirby Right Back At Ya! started airing around then? Those were my favourite Saturday morning cartoons. Yep, it was peak early 2000s.
It wasn't until March 2002 that I bought a Gamecube and Smash Bros. though. Now THAT'S a month I remember!
