What did Mid 2001 really feel like -Ask John Titor edition

The following mailbag question is from Early2010sGuy who wrote the following Question
"Was the Y2K feeling still around? Because when John Titor was still around, she said that the Y2K era ended around mid August, because things started to go boring around April 2001, before 9/11 even happened. I watched a Y2K commercial compilation, and there were barely any commercials with the Y2K aesthetic after April 2001. Yes, there was still Teen Pop like the song 'Pop' by NSync, and a few songs from Destiny's Child, but it was evident that Teen Pop was pretty much over by February 2001, rap, R&B and rock were slowly making it's way to the top charts again. TV wise, cartoons like Daria were still popular, but on the other side, Recess was ending. Shows like Friends and the Simpsons were still on air, but they're way past their prime already, so I don't know what other shows were popular by the time. Movies like Shrek and AI were popular, but I don't know much about movies in this time, let me know what movies were popular in mid 2001. Games like Max Payne were popular, and the PS2 and Original Xbox were getting announced, going to replace the PS1, N64 and Dreamcast systems. I don't know what else to say, but I know this era felt boring, according to John Titor. But what did this time really feel like? Was there still Teen Pop? Was the Y2K era still around despite its dying?"
So around April 2001 (around the time Wrestlemania X-7 happened) teen pop was starting to be super uncool, the y2k era was pretty much on the way
out at that point. The whole boy band thing was passe as hell with shows on THE WB popstars and Making the band. Even TGIF which was in its Y2k phase
ended a few months prior. I will agree with @a_reminder in that pop culture was not really sure what to do, SEGA as console company was dead, WCW was
bought by WWF and teen pop was becoming lame. During this time it was VERY hard to get a Playstation 2 because Sony witheld systems until Fall 2001,
because of that the next gen really didn't start until XBOX & Gamecube came out that November. So a major anticipation feeling was happening that summer.
April 2001 is when the y2k decline acclerated until August 2001 when things like Michelle Branch, American Pie 2,Nickleback, Alicia Keys,Jimmy Eat world started
taking over, by Aug 2001 the transition was over & there would only be Nsync's Dirty Pop and Jessica Simpsons new joint being the only remotely y2k sounding songs.
Summer 2001 did have a calm before the storm feeling, I remember everyone being hyped to go back to school because that Summer was slow, (We were
in the middle of the forgotten Early 2000s MINI Recession) made businesses and transportation really slow. TV really did suck that summer as repeats were
becoming RAMPANT with Nick & Toonami kind of falling off a bit, TV would get all of its mojo back around October 2001, and esp in 2002 with The Osbournes
HIT reality show.
Just to reinforce what I am saying, these are some Music Videos that was on MTV in the morning WEEKs before 9/11 happened.

As soon as we got to September 2001, the 2001 VMAS happened where Britney made her transition to Urban Pop with the Snake and debuting Slave
4 U produced by the Neptunes, Sum 41 was on the radio non stop. You had Nickleback in the charts, Then when 9/11 happened......well you already
know how that changed culture
