Well, I wasn't sure where to put this but just wanted to discuss the situation

So, if you were in a situation like that, what would you have done?
I don't think there's much to spoil but anyway Click below for my questions 
Do you think there's a way to save the girl?
Should they both have just gone down together?
Or did the narrator do the right thing?
I don't know enough about the setting to say, but I think if there was some way they could've both got out of the crash, like some emergency pod or something, that would've worked best.
I think it's silly in the first place that a ship doesn't carry enough fuel for emergencies.
I'll say more but would like to hear others' views
