More than half of modern celebrities ages 20-30 can pass for their mid teens. I looked at old pictures of my dad and his friends at 18 and, they looked so much more developed than me and my peers did at 18. I see 18 year olds now and they look like children to me. It's a very noticable trend. It seems like it might have started in the 80s but, never became obvious until the mid 2000s.

It's a very noticable trend. A shocking amount of 18-26 year olds these days can pass for 14/15-16. It’s like they stay stuck there until age 28-35 where they age a bit more. I don’t know what’s going on.

I don’t know what’s going on. I don't know if it's something in the food, water, whether it's pollution or something in plastic. Back in 1984, people were surprised that Ralph Macchio was in his 20s and looked 14 (as it was very rare) but, I feel these days there are plenty of guys in their 20s that are like that.

 Terri Nunn, the lead singer of Berlin (an '80s synthpop band). She's 61 turning 62 this year, but she looks like she could still be in her 40s. This pic is from an interview with her which I happened to come across on TV a few days ago.

While I don't think the cast of Outer Banks still pass for 17, I do think several of them look young for their age.

Childlike features, namely large eyes and a small mouth, seem to have a subconscious affect on our perception of youth. Recently I learned Gerard Way is actually a few years older than I had expected. Here he is at 34:  He seems to be a pretty classic case of neoteny, and his style also keeps him young. Yeah, Gerard Way is a good example. I only recently learnt that he was born in the Late '70s! Before then, I had always just assumed that he was in his early/mid 20s when My Chemical Romance were at their peak. Incredible to think that he was almost 30 when the music video for "Famous Last Words" was filmed.  I know this is an old post, but I don't think I'd group early and mid 20s together. I can typically tell the average 20 year old apart from the average 25 year old. But I cannot tell the average 25 year old apart from the average 30 year old if that makes sense.
