I remember a few months ago on a chat with al , X2M , mqg96, and a few other users relating to the 2018-19 NFL season, and one of the topics that came up was how Boston has been spoiled with championships since the New Millennium. Within a short span, the Red Sox won the World Series and the Patriots won the Super Bowl, now they just needed the Celtics and Bruins to win a championship to complete a quadfecta, something that has never happened in sports history before. The chance of a quadfecta was shot down when the Celtics lost to the Bucks in the second round of the NBA playoffs, but the chance for at least a trifecta was still alive with the Bruins reaching the Stanley Cup Finals, until yesterday. The Bruins were defeated at home in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the St. Louis Blues, a team that, since their inception in 1967, had never won a Stanley Cup, or had even been to the Stanley Cup Final since 1970, when, coincidentally, they were swept by the Bruins.
Earlier within the 2018-19 season, no one would've predicted this. The Blues were dead last in the standings during the 2018 Holiday Season. They had to fire their old coach Mike Yeo and replace him with Craig Berube, as well as acquire Jordan Binnington as their starting goalie. It worked. The St. Louis Blues got the wins they needed in the regular season to get a top three spot within their division for the playoffs, and they got the wins they needed in the playoffs to advance to the Final and win the cup. This has to feel great for people in St. Louis. After having their Rams ripped from them, having the Blues win a cup must feel so welcoming. They earned it, too. Also, they adopted the cheesy '80s pop song "Gloria" as their victory anthem.
The 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs were full of chaos, all around. In the first round alone, you had all four division winners eliminated, including a sweep of the record-setting Tampa Bay Lightnin, all three Canadian teams getting eliminated in a year that looked like one that would break that curse, Pittsburgh getting swept after winning 2 cups in the last 3 years, Vegas blowing a 3-1 series lead and a 3-0 goal lead in a Game 7 against San Jose, UrinatingTree offering out "Congrats" videos like candy, the creation of glorious memes, all that happened within the first round. Here are a couple videos from UrinatingTree;

Boston fans have too many champions t-shirts and they aren’t selling good anymore. They’ve started to go unsold and end up at the outlet stores. Sorry no more wins for you Boston until your merch sales improve. Next.
