I'm honestly not sure how this game is going to turn out, because it's something I just thought of a few minutes ago and I don't know how many people are going to want to participate in it. I guess we'll soon see.  The game itself is pretty straight-forward. This is how it will work:  * Copy+paste the Top-40 template below and give a rating out of ten for each song in the Top-40. * When new releases appear on the Billboard Hot 100, UK, AUS & NZ Charts, I will make a post listing the new releases and we can give those songs (not the entire chart) a rating out of 10. * All of our scores will be compiled. For instance, if I give "Wow" a 3/10 and someone else gives it a 7/10, the total result for the song will be "10". The total result will go up if more people give the song a ranking. At the end of the year, the songs will be compiled into a Top-40 "end-of-year end chart", which will be made up of our "most liked" songs of 2019 (based on our results). The four Top-40 charts will also be ranked. For instance, if the new entries on the Billboard Hot 100 have the highest song ratings, the US will come 1st. You'll listen to all this TRASH but not Carly Rae Jepsen's new album 😭 I don't listen to the radio but I think Shallow is definitely worth more than 6/10, maybe 8/10. I'm also surprised you gave such a (relatively) good score to Never Really Over, I can't stand the chorus. A 3/10 maybe, but I use the whole ten point scale.

Carly Rae Jepson should have thought twice before releasing the manufactured turd of a song called "Call Me Maybe". There's no coming back from that.  Yeah, I probably would have given "Shallow" a seven or eight out of ten when it was first released, but the constant overplay has ruined the song for me. I've got to be honest, I actually don't think "Never Really Over" is all that bad, at least for 2019 standards. It isn't a song that I would ever choose to listen to, but it's definitely one of the better pop songs that are on the charts at the moment, IMO.

Oh I really like this idea of a game! Will set me in to listen to stuff I wouldn't have checked otherwise Thanks. At first I was going to do a template for all four Top-40 charts, but then I thought it didn't really make any sense to do so, as the majority of the songs on the charts are the same and everyone would have had to copy+paste the rankings for each song.

Interesting to see the ratings you have given for each song so far. Yep. The song itself isn't groundbreaking by any means, but Lewis Capaldi is quite a good singer and "Someone You Loved" would have to be one of the best songs charting within the Top-40 at the moment. I actually prefer their collaboration with The Chainsmokers over this and I say that as someone who isn't a fan of either group.

The idea of this as a game was good in theory (not to sound modest), but it was kind of impractical to have ran it as a weekly thing. I've decided to rank the current chart just for the fun of it. If people would like to see this return as a game, i'm open to the idea of it!
