It isn't unusual for primary school-aged kids to experience chicken pox, although people can also get it when they are in their teens or adulthood as well.
Have you ever had it? If so, how old were you when you got it and how long did you have it for?

I was 6 when I got chicken pox. I remember it well, because I came down with it just a month after I started Kindergarten and it also happened at the same time that I got a bunk bed for my bedroom. Having chicken pox was annoying, but at least I got to have two days off school and I spent the days watching shows on my crappy '12 inch analogue TV.

I was 6 months old when I had Chicken Pox, judging by the home movie tape I only had it for 3 days.

Yes, when I was a baby/toddler. I heard most kids shouldn't get it anymore because of the vaccine but both my sisters born 2005 had chicken pox so the vaccination rate must be spotty on that one.

I had chickenpox for 3 weeks at the age of 34. Ironically, the person I caught it from died at 34.

Yes and no? I had the chicken pox shot and then sorta got it from that. But it wasn’t a full blown rash, it was just on my face. I don’t really remember but I guess it wasn’t much less unpleasant than the actual illness. Personally I can’t remember anyone my age growing up ever having full blown chicken pox.

Personally I can’t remember anyone my age growing up ever having full blown chicken pox. That's interesting, because I remember there were quite a few people in my grade who caught it. In fact, it was so common that my school even warned people about it in it's weekly newsletter.
