The 1980s are starting to become more distant from the present time. 1980 turns 40 years old next year and '80s nostalgia in the mainstream is gradually becoming superseded by nostalgia for the 1990s. Yet, despite this, the '80s still feel quite relatable in a lot of regards.
Do the 1980s still seem modern to you?

I personally consider the 1980s to be the first "modern" decade overall. The '60s and '70s had many qualities which layered the foundations for the world we live in today (e.g the revolution in social norms, emergence of a wide range of genres), but in my opinion, they were caught in the transition between the social oppression of the Early 20th Century and the diverse, progressive nature of the Late 20th Century/Early 21st Century. IMO, the 1980s are the first decade which are entirely relatable to the present day and you can see that across a number of different fields. It was the decade global warming became well known within the scientific community, PCs and CDs became standard, mobile phones were introduced to the public and "high-concept" films (movies which are easily marketable and image driven) gained popularity.

Absolutely not. Even if I was alive back then i'd probably see them as vintage.

Overall, yes. Particularly the later half of the decade, where Shopping Centre's/Mall's rose to popularity, and we saw a newer, less boxy automobile design concept.

I'd say that the 80's are still pretty modern. They will probably seem more and more vintage within the next 10 to 15 years.

It really depends, they're pretty dated when you look at them now but, when you contrast the 1980s to say, the 1960s, then the 1980s seem very modern in comparison (especially starting in 1982).

I'm watching Aliens (1986) at the moment and considering the fact that it is now 33 years old, it's amazing how modern and relatable the movie itself still is. The characters in the movie act and speak in the same way people would today, the CGI has aged really well and doesn't look hideously outdated, while all of the camera angles, techniques etc. used to produce the movie are still used in new movie releases to this day. The '80s are definitely still modern in many regards.

Sort of, yes. We’ve been stuck in a Reaganite/Thatcherite societal time loop ever since.

Depends on context and on how large of a scale we’re talking about. By comparison to how the prior decades would have seemed back then, then yes, I’d say the 80’s have remained quite modern. How much one considers the internet to affect our lives is ultimately what skews it.
