To compliment the childhood thread. What is one song from each year of your adolescence (ages 13-19) that makes you feel nostalgic?

For me personally: {2012-2018} 2012
2013
2014
2015
This instantly brings me back to when I was 16.
2016

Songs that spark an immediate nostalgia
2010: Shakira - Waka Waka (Me and my family watched the Fifa World Cup in South Africa a lot) 2011: Michel Tegó - Ai Se Eu Te Pego (We had to do a school dance to this song as for raising climate awareness and I had a lot of fun doing it) 2012: Gotye - Somebody That I Used to Know (Out of all songs, this song reminds me the most of what the year '12 felt like) 2013: Calvis Harris ft. Ellie Goulding - I Need Your Love 2014: Lilly Wood and the Prick & Robin Shulz - Prayer in C (I bring this one a lot but it's truly one moment that brings back High School memories) 2015: Taylor Swift - Wildest Dreams (I remember bringing this one a lot when I had to write assigments for school) 2016: Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out (was overplayed to death in the last months up to my graduation)
I was technically still a teen in the first month of 2017, but I can't really associate a song with that particular period. I was too busy with college anyway.

2012: Gotye - Somebody That I Used to Know (Out of all songs, this song reminds me the most of what the year '12 felt like) I know this is completely random, but it's strange to think Gotye is technically Belgian (as he was born there) rather than Australian. He would have to be the first Belgian to achieve a chart-topping worldwide hit, lol.

He would have to be the first Belgian to achieve a chart-topping worldwide hit, lol. Nope! That honor goes to Soeur Sourire with her hit "Dominique" which topped the charts of the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand way back in 1963.

2015-2018 (and not quite finished!)
2015: Take Me To Church - Hozier (quite a few on my mind for 2015 actually). 2016: Closer - The Chainsmokers (reminds me of semester 2 exam period, the song was inescapable and even though I disliked it, it is sort of nostalgic). 2017: Despacito - Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee (slim pickings, all I remember about 2017 is fidget spinners.) 2018: Happier - Marshmello ft. Bastille

2003: Lil Jon and The Eastside Boys - Get Low 2004: Destiny's Child - Soldier 2005: Mariah Carey - Shake It Off 2006: Justin Timberlake - My Love with T.I 2007: Omarion - Ice Box 2008: T.I - Big Things Poppin' 2009: Young Money - Bed Rock 2010: Drake - Forever
I switched them around since I'm very nostalgic for multiple songs in each of those years in different ways.

My teenage years are really starting to feel distant to me now, so I thought I would do an updated list since i'm now in my mid 20s: {Spoiler} 2012 (Age 13):
2013 (Age 14):
I'm glad I got to be a teen when indie-pop was huge.
2014 (Age 15):
2015 (Age 16):
2016 (Age 17):
2017 (Age 18):
2018 (Age 19):
Tbh, i'm not actually nostalgic for 2018 at all. It still seems too recent to me and it was a terrible year for me personally.
