First song is alright but I’m not a fan of the second one.

Here are a few songs that I like from the year I was born: I like more, but i'm not going to post all of them. 1999 isn't as bad as people make it out to be, IMO. It wasn't all teen-pop and nu-metal.

I think 2000 was a pretty good year for music, however there was quite a lot of teen pop around:

I think 2000 was a pretty good year for music, however there was quite a lot of teen pop around: I agree. A lot of people tend to believe that 1999 and 2000 were almost identical in terms of music, however I think there are actually quite a few differences between the two. Alternative-rock and "'90s-style hip-hop" (sorry, I don't know what the proper name of it would be ) were still pretty popular in 1999, whereas they had largely fallen out of favour the following year. There was also some Gen-X culture remaining, but 2000 was almost entirely Millennial-focused. To be honest, i'm not really a fan of music from the year 2000.

This was the #1 song in the United States on the day I was born. Ugh, of all pop hits from the 90s, I can't believe I came into this world while this incredibly limp and unconvincing splooge was at the top of the charts. It was at #1 for 13 friggin' weeks and prevented "Baby-Baby-Baby" and "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough" from reaching the top of the Hot 100.
