2014 is 5 years ago right now in 2019. What makes 2014 different from 2019?
2014: Vine was at its peak. 2019: Vine is dead but it’s successor TikTok carried the torch.
2014: Obama is President 2019: Trump is President and we’re closer to the 2020 election.
2014: Music was overwhelmingly Pop. 2019: Music is urban dominated.
2014: The culture was Millennial dominated 2019: Gen Z is taking over pop culture.
2014: Taylor Swift was the biggest music star. 2019: Taylor Swift is not very successful with her recent singles.
2014: Hipster/Indie culture was at its peak. 2019: Thanks to Gen Z, Hipster is no longer a thing.
What other differences can you think of?

Streaming wasn't as big back in 2014 as what it is now. Here in Australia, I would consider 2015 to be the year which truly kicked off streaming, as that was the year Netflix and Stan were launched in this country.
