The '00s were also a better time to be a teen because social media was so new that it didn't dominated our lives the way it has this decade, meaning that teens could still make mistakes and not have the entire country find out about it like it does during the modern era.I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you talking about cyberbullying? Because if anything our generation doesn't really bully others as much as previous generations did because we've become more accepting of people different from us. Also, even if cyberbullying did happen, a lot of us wouldn't tolerate it and it would be dealt with quickly. We were basically told all of our lives that bullying and cyberbullying is bad and we shouldn't do it. I also think you're ignoring the benefits that social media has. Yes, it has downsides, but it has positives as well. Social media can offer a lot of support from other people that would otherwise be hard to find in person. It's very easy to contact friends. And you can learn a lot of new and useful information just from using it.

It all depends on people's individual experiences of course, however I wouldn't necessarily say that the 2000s in general were a better time for someone to be a teen. I think it largely depends on the part of the decade we are referring to. For instance, I can see how the Early 2000s would have been a decent time for someone to experience their teenage years in and that would have been the era that you experienced the bulk of your adolescence. However in contrast, @loosebolt , #Infinity and @slowpoke1993 were born just a few years later in the Early '90s and they have spoken in the past about how they personally didn't enjoy being a teen during the Mid 2000s. Of course, I can't speak from first-hand experience on what it was like to be a teen during the 2000s, but with having been old enough to experience the Mid 2000s for what they were, I can completely understand why they and other people would have that opinion. They were very much an era that was bogged down by backwards thinking and it wasn't a progressive time for pop culture in general. I personally would prefer to be a teen during the Mid 2010s than the Mid 2000s if I was given the option of choosing between the two.

I would definitely say both decades have been a mixed bag. There are parts of the ‘00s I have enjoyed and parts of the ‘10s I have enjoyed. I personally did not have a great time in middle and high school, though I would acknowledge that objectively, it seemed the adult world had it more “together” at the time. The current day and age is a frightening hellscape by comparison.
On the other hand, I think the gaming market this decade FAR outstrips anything publishers were offering in the ‘00s. The sheer amount of innovation and experimentation this decade, on the PC alone, far outdoes even the best the gaming industry had to offer on either PC or consoles. On the other other hand, music has been a mixed bag this decade and movies - apart from the MCU and a few isolated gems - seem to have been on a steady decline over the last couple decades.
Growing up as a high schooler in the ‘00s was not fun, and homophobia was generally recognized and people paid lip service to tolerance, but even I am not beyond admitting that I am aghast at some of my own behavior from that time, to say nothing of others’. “Gay” was definitely still being used as an insult at the time, students of color were treated as dumber or lazier, and my friends and other cliques - I don’t think any social group was spared of it - made rape jokes. Also I was bullied for being a nerd.
On one hand, the ‘00s boasted great animated works like Avatar: The Last Airbender. On the other hand, the ‘10s had Adventure Time. The ‘00s may have had Bush, but nowadays you can spit and hit at least three frightening dictators.
Like I said, it’s a mixed bag. The 21st century has not been all good, but it’s not all bad either, and I wouldn’t say one decade has been better than the other. I gave a slight edge to the ‘10s because of my personal life experiences, but it was such a slight edge.

An example of what I mean specifically is the way that social media makes bullying more impactful overall, if perhaps the actual rates of bullying might have gone down a bit. When I went to school during the '90s and '00s, I didn't get bullied myself thankfully, but I did know other kids that did. The thing about those days is that, if you got bullied at school, when you left school that was that. You could hang out with the kids you were buddies with, and as long as you didn't meet up with the kids that bullied you, you didn't have to worry about it. These days, if you a kid that gets bullied, that stuff stays on social media regardless. I you have an account on any social media, which most kids do, then the kids that bully you can post embarrassing videos of you on YouTube, continue spreading rumours or making fun of you on other stuff like Facebook, or whatever kids are on, and use other kids to target you that way also. If you are a kid who gets bullied, and you are on any form of social media, the bullying would be considerably more over the top. Another thing is the fact that stuff you post online as a junior high school kid can be used against you these days as an adult. Thankfully, since we didn't have social media during my junior high days, there aren't any embarrassing things I posted that can come back up years later.

I dont remember anything about the 2000s but I remember the 2010s. I loved 2014 I was in my childhood that year. And basically my favorite songs were from the 2010s so I prefer the 2010s

I dont remember anything about the 2000s but I remember the 2010s. I loved 2014 I was in my childhood that year. And basically my favorite songs were from the 2010s so I prefer the 2010s I liked 2014 too! Wasn't a part of my childhood but I still loved my young teenager years

2000s. 2010s is completely devoid of soul and overly artificial and depressing. There is nothing "cool" about it like there was in the previous few decades. So bland and watered down. It's fucked up pop culture beyond repair and made everything all political and corporate. The only good thing to come out of it is some games. I wish I had my childhood and teen years in the 90s and 00s instead.
