Sorry to double-post. This week I've started to explore trap-metal in more depth. I've known of the genre's existence for at least a couple of years, however Scarlxrd's "Heart Attack" was the only trap-metal track that I had ever listened to. I was curious to know if the genre diverged a lot from the mumble-rap that has been popular in the mainstream, or if it was essentially the same style of music just with more aggressive vocals. Unfortunately, the latter turned out to be true, at least from what I've heard. I've listened to tracks by Bones, Scarlxrd, XXXTentacion and Ghostmaine. Scarlxrd is probably the best out of the lot and I like that he at least incorporates a number of styles/influences into his sound, however the one issue I have with his music (and this is a complaint I have with trap-metal/mumble rap in general) is that all of his tracks sound the same. "Heart Attack" sounds exactly like "6 Feet", and "Bands", and "I Need Space". His 'maniac' schtick in all of his music videos wears thin after a while too. So I was left feeling disappointed after checking out those artists. I should have known that a sub-genre of Trap had no chance of being any good.
