Though it’s nice I think I like the current theme I have better. I’m not a huge fan of Halloween and you probably might know that I personally think it shouldn’t be something we participate in here in Australia like they do in America. It’s commercialism at its finest. That's completely understandable. I have the same viewpoint when it comes to Halloween. It wasn't even really a thing until about 5-10 years ago. Of course, it was celebrated before that, but it definitely wasn't as big of an occasion as it is today.

Yes, it’s amazing how quickly it has exploded in Australia. One year very few celebrated it now it’s bloody everywhere (even on TV).
I wonder how long it is until we take another American tradition in Thanksgiving? Hell, even the 4th of July next.. why not?! 😛

Yes, it’s amazing how quickly it has exploded in Australia. One year very few celebrated it now it’s bloody everywhere (even on TV). I wonder how long it is until we take another American tradition in Thanksgiving? Hell, even the 4th of July next.. why not?! 😛 I think Australians will probably celebrate Thanksgiving eventually, in my opinion. It's bound to happen at some point, considering how Americanised our country is becoming.

It just gets annoying when some stupid twelve year olds thinks it's funny to ring the doorbell like 10 times and keep hiding  lol, I'll just chuck some water out the window at them

Or give them fruit instead of lollies.  Just out of curiosity, how long has Halloween been popular in New Zealand for? It only became an occasion here about 7-8 years ago.

I remember lots of people would go trick or treating way back when I was around 5 over 12 years ago so I guess it's been pretty popular since sometime before then, howwever I think it's got even more popular recently. Last Halloween I was going for a walk around the neighbourhood and there were kids literally everywhere (for some reason everyone was a witch) ,and it didn't use to happen often before but now all these houses around make these huge haunted houses with decorations everywhere with skeletons on the lawn lol

No disrespect to America, but it's pretty depressing that we are becoming more and more like them, to be honest. There are people who are now starting to regularly use American terms as well. I know for a fact that there are people in the younger grades of my High School (Year 7-Year 9), who are using words like "sidewalk" and "trash" instead of "footpath" and "rubbish".

No disrespect to America, but it's pretty depressing that we are becoming more and more like them, to be honest. There are people who are now starting to regularly use American terms as well. They just recently gave the world Donald Trump FFS. 😝 Yep, I’ve encountered this as well. Not to mention the Americanised (sorry Americanized 😉) spelling that is becoming more frequent used these days with the use of “z” instead of “s”. Another annoying habit that gets to me is the spelling of words in how they’re actually spoken like they do in the US - i.e ”center” instead of “centre”. That shits me off to be honest. 🙄
