September 2006 stands out for me for a number of reasons. I can clearly recall my Dad picking me up from school on the 4th of that month and hearing on the radio that Steve Irwin had died from a stingray attack. Also, just four days later, Australian racing legend Peter Brock died in a motor racing accident, which was also a huge shock for the country.
Overall, I consider that period of time (along with 2007) to have been the absolute "peak" of my childhood and I have a lot of nostalgia for that time.

Geek culture was really beginning to ramp up, culminating in it going mainstream within a year...which is how we got to where we are today.

The eyeliner is on point for 06. Do you have any more photos that showcase the fashion a little more? This was when Abercrombie sweatshirts were really huge, along with the sexy prep look in general. And of course, this was MySpace country.
