“Based” has become an alt right dog whistle and I really can’t stand it. I see it on so many racist subreddits.

Problematic and normalizing because it's been thrown a lot by those woke Twitter people.

'Near' as in a place. For example 'I live near Chelmsford' (a town in Essex).
No, you don't. You either live in Chelmsford or you live somewhere else.

"Doggo" and "pupper". My friends get super offended if I call their dog a dog. They think it's dehumanizing. Well, no shit, it's a DOG! And if you them c*nines people will look at you like you just said the N-word. I experience a lot of reverse-specieism too: I've been called a "dawg" numerous times by all sorts of people and no one asked me how I felt about that.

I've got to be honest, i'm guilty of saying that when i'm far away from home and someone asks me where i'm from. I live in a suburb about 20-25 minutes away from the city centre, so I usually just say something like "I live near Wollongong".

Bad boy, Shark! I've told Mister Ellis about you.
Slowpoke, I hate 'pupper' too. It's stupid.

I have a coworker who inserts "crisp" and "effectively" into every sentence and I'm not sure if he's doing it on purpose. "Your code looks crisp", "I went to the washroom, effectively", "I like the crisp feel of the autumn breeze, effectively". Dude use some other more crisp word plz. I effectively don't know what these words mean anymore. It's just not crisp and concise, effectively.

"Doggo" and "pupper". My friends get super offended if I call their dog a dog. Oh no, now they're calling themselves "pawrents" 🤢 More reasons to self-isolate.
