I found this Nine News report from NYE 2009, in which a few psychics make their predictions for the year 2010. Watch from 11:29 onwards. Here are some of the predictions:
* Someone will attempt to assassinate Barack Obama, but he survives. * Queen Elizabeth II will step down at some point during the year. * There will be an "atomic blast", possibly meaning that there would be a nuclear strike. * Rumors could surface that Elton John will have health problems, but it will be "something else entirely". * "Dark clouds" around Susan Boyle, meaning that he she could retire from the spotlight.
The predictions were absolutely awful and even far-fetched for the time. They were able to correctly predict two things though. Jessica Simpson did successfully sail around the world and Tony Abbott wasn't the leader of the Liberal party.

Yes, I don't seem to recall any round the world sailing ventures from the American pop singer Jessica Simpson! 😜
I think 2010 in Australia is probably most remembered now for major weather events, major political events and being in a transitional period for the media. Oh, and there was some absolutely cringeworthy pop music that year as well - who could ever forget (even though you'd probably want to) when a certain Canadian pop singer had his performance on breakfast TV?

Haha. Yeah, I honestly don't think Jessica Simpson would ever consider attempting such a feat. Yep, I agree. Despite it only being seven years ago, 2010 actually feels quite distant from today in many aspects. I mostly remember 2010 as being the year the iPad was launched and smartphones exploded in popularity. Also, if i'm not mistaken, 2010 was also the last year Channel Ten had a "Summer" on-air presentation. I don't think they launched one for Summer 2010/11, although I could be wrong!

What makes 2010 feel far away is that people born in that year are old enough to walk, talk, read, and write by themselves now, and people born in 2012 are starting Kindergarten this year o.o It justs weird to think about xD

Couldn't imagine how EyewitnessTV must think of that. I agree, the fact that 2010 borns are old enough to walk, talk, read and write really puts things into perspective. It's even more alarming that they have already experienced half of their core childhood (using the 5-10 definition)! :S
