Inspired by the thread based on Oasis. How can we have a '90s sub-forum without a topic based on Nirvana? Not only were they one of the biggest defining bands of the '90s, but they are also one of the most popular rock bands of all-time. What is your opinion of Nirvana? Do you like any of their songs? Nirvana are personally one of my favourite bands, however I only started to get into them when I was 17. Before then, I was only ever really familiar with their major single releases, such as "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Come As You Are". For some reason, I wasn't as heavily exposed to Nirvana's music as I had been with Pearl Jam and Soundgarden when I was a kid, even though both of my parents like them as a band. My Mum had "Heart-Shaped Box" on her iPod and I can remember liking it whenever it came on in the car, but that is the only Nirvana song she has downloaded. Dad owns a copy of Nevermind on CD (which he bought when the album was brand new), but he never played it in the car with me, for whatever reason. I do have memories of watching the music videos for "You Know You're Right", "Lithium" and "In Bloom" on TV with my Dad when I was about 10-11 years old, but I wasn't really bothered about them at the time. In no particular order, my favourite Nirvana songs are: * "You Know You're Right" * "About A Girl" - (Unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer the Bleach version over the MTV Unplugged rendition). * "In Bloom" * "On A Plain" * "Stay Away" * "Heart-Shaped Box" * "Do Re Mi" * "Marigold" * "The Man Who Sold The World" (MTV Unplugged).
