When I personally think of 2008 music, the very first song that comes to mind is actually this one:
Maybe an odd choice, since it's not even "Viva la Vida" and this is a completely forgotten song at this point. But I remember this in particular being overplayed on my local radio. And the MV always popped up when I tuned in on the music video channel. I also remember absolutely hating that video as an 11 year old, and I'm still not a fan of it. The magnifying glass shot makes me wince for some reason.
All this rambling to say that Coldplay was a very overhyped band back in 2008.

Very impressive accidental foreshadowing. The song is incredibly 2000s on the other hand.
