What was the Top-50 chart like during the week you were born? Here is mine: www.australian-charts.com/weekchart.asp?cat=s&year=1999&date=19990307Some of the songs which were on the chart at the time include: * This was the #1 when I was born. I based it off the ARIA Top-50 chart, for obvious reasons. The majority of the songs which were on the charts at the time were actually released in 1998.

Haha, the NZ chart at the time was all over the place! I can't believe that Blink-182, S Club 7 and Enrique Iglesias were all in the Top-10. Even the rest of the chart was really variable. There were songs by Cliff Richards, Counting Crows, Eurythmics and the Foo Fighters on the chart as well! This is what the Australian chart was like at the time: www.australian-charts.com/weekchart.asp?cat=s&year=2000&date=20000130It's pretty similar to the New Zealand chart, but it's not as "unique".

Ah, it's your favourite song! It's pretty interesting to notice the differences in the charts. At least 1992 wasn't saturated by Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and other teen-pop artists.

Haha - I regret mentioning that now lol. I’ll say it wasn’t exactly a “favourite” now. It just had a catchy tune that has stuck with me for years. Maybe it had to do with being so popular around that period? 🤐😝 I didn’t actually realise it stayed at the top for so long! 😦

There would be a lot of people out there who do actually like "Achy Breaky Heart", but they just don't want to admit it. It's probably a "guilty pleasure" for lots of people. At least you admitted that you don't mind it.

Here’s a little game for you.
Go through my Top-50 from week 3 of November 1992 and pick your favourite song and I’ll go through yours and pick one from week 1 of March 1999. 😉

Here we go...
There’s a couple of decent songs from this period but I don’t mind this one to be honest:

I'm going to be honest, I don't like the majority of the songs that were on the chart at the time! I'm a fan of '90s alternative rock (e.g Nirvana, Pearl Jam), however alternative rock hadn't completely arrived on the scene yet. My favourite song from your chart would have to be "Breaking The Girl" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, although I wouldn't really go out of my way to listen to it. Here is the link to mine: www.australian-charts.com/weekchart.asp?cat=s&year=1999&date=19990307

I actually like a fair few of the songs off the chart, to be honest: * "Anthem for the Year 2000" - Silverchair * "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" - The Offspring * "All Torn Down" - The Living End * "Save Tonight" - Eagle Eye Cherry * "Redundant/Time of Your Life" - Green Day * "Music Sounds Better with You" - Stardust * "Fly Away" - Lenny Kravitz
