I was going to post this in the "Weather & Climate" thread, but this is an issue which warrants it's own thread. Several media outlets have been reporting over the past few days that the ongoing drought in eastern Australia is now "critical" and several regional towns will run out of water by as early as November if action isn't taken or if no rain falls in the meantime.
